the "official" zelda timeline is very wrong
-1
After thinking about it a lot I realized how wrong the official timeline is (I always knew it was wrong but it's beginning to bother me a lot more) So lets start off with the fact that everyone was wondering, "where did that third timeline come from?" and the answer is no where, If you know anything about timeline then you would know that for the 3rd timeline to exist Link would have to time travel 3 times but he only did it twice in ocarina of time, I mean a 3rd timeline is possible just not there, I would like to rant some more about the timeline but I want to hear your opinions first

The Zelda timeline is fine, there is absolutely no way the timeline is "wrong" because it is official. And the creators have determined that this is the way the game's lore works out.
If you disagree that is fine but it still is official. It is like saying that after JK rowling said Dumbledore is her idea of a gay wizard that Dumbledore is not at all gay. Although what bearing that has on the story I have no idea, the timeline is cool but it doesn't have much bearing on the games which are consistently of high quality.

The 3rd timeline is if Link didn't win. Meaning it's an event that happens off-screen which isn't shown in any of the games. You know the whole parallel universe theory that there is an infinite number of alternate universes?
It would be easier to explain if I use an actual example. In DBZ there are 3 timelines. 1 is where Future Trunks comes from, where the androids destroyed the world and all the Z Fighters. There is the current timeline, where Goku gets the medicine for the heart disease and eventually goes SSJ 3. Then there's another timeline, where Cell came from after killing Trunks in his timeline.
Essentially that's what the Zelda timeline is about. The only reason why they even released it was due to fans saying there's a timeline, when Nintendo probably didn't even consider it. The only games that are truly connected together are the 2 N64 Zelda games and the GC/DS games.

The timeline doesn't fit because it's obvious to anyone with half a brain that the games weren't made to fit together to begin with.
Zelda 1, 2, aLttP is obviously completely separate games, no timeline here. Awakening is a 'sequel' to aLttP but has little relevancy to anything. OoT is it's own game and Majora's Mask fits with OoT. Ages/Seasons are again, their own games not fitting in with any other. My guess is that up to his point no one at Nintendo had even thought about a timeline.
The earlier games fit together with eachother about as well as they do with the three Phillips games. (eg. not at all.)
Edit:
I haven't played the later handheld games, but WW clearly takes place after OoT, but I don't think it was considered anything else but a homage. TP seems to be it's own game again. Skyward Sword is probably the first game that takes any kind of timeline into consideration.

I know the timelines was suppose to be there to begin with but if they are going to make a timeline they should at least keep it plausible and whip out the parallel universe thing as a excuse

Despite not being realted, I would dare to say that aLttP is connected with OoT, or better said, when the maid OoT they have into mind they previous concept about the 7 Sages, which appear in the video Hentainize posted.
Also, I agree with Yummines and Chlor, Nintendo released a timeline just to calm down the fans, but not because it has a real timeline... Probably, from now on, the Zelda games are going to be more related (or not, who knows?) but since the release of Skyward Sword, seems they want to connect the Zelda Titles of the consoles at least.
Edit:
@Mysterious Clam: I completely agree with that guy and I follow his videos. However, as others have said, Nintendo said "this is the official Timeline", you can accepted it or not, it is up to you, but that is the "timeline", like it or not. =/

The timeline to begin with is very loosely put together but they did do their best to put all the games in a timeline. The whole thing with the "Third Timeline" does not work considering that even though the timeline splits into two, Adult Timeline and Child Timeline, it was the result of the same Link who defeats Ganondorf. The same Link can't beat Ganondorf yet also lose to Ganondorf. Therefor the "Third Timeline" is really a separate universe with a different Link and Ganondorf. This is what I think but it doesn't matter anyway, it's the Legend of Zelda which says it all right there, it's just a legend.

The fun fact is that Nintendo ALWAYS declined there being a timeline one year, then the next year saying there is a timeline and they went back and forth with this until finally, they "make an official timeline" and was an easy excuse to make a book and make money.
