Turn-based underrated classics.

So, yeah. Saw a topic on turn-based RPGs and got to thinking about all the old-school RPG goodness that spawned from older consoles.
Sure, I could name drop Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy but I'd rather recognize some of the lesser known titles that turned out to be just as good.
Legend of Dragoon is truly an underrated classic, hands down. It probably hasn't aged well but for its time it was the shit. DON'T DISPUTE ME.
Grandia (the first one), spawned several sequels and is still playable even to this day. Great story. Great characters. Great gameplay. Probably not as overlooked as LoD, but still a game no one from today's generation of gamers will recognize. IF IT DOESN'T HAVE FIRST-PERSON-ALIEN-BASHING-MULTIPLAYER-TEABAGGING THEN GET IT THE FUCK OFF MY SCREEN. Yeah, you know who I'm talking about.
Secret of Mana 2 (and its retarded half-brother Legend of Mana for the PS). Secret of Mana 2 had co-op gameplay. On the SNES. 'nuff said. Legend of Mana for the PS is no where near as innovative or classy, but I love it so fuck you it makes the list.
And, yeah... share some of your favorites. Criticize me for my taste. Whatev'. Just get a discussion going up in this bitch.

I agree. Legend of Dragoon is simply epic. Gotta love mastering the additions...
And I'll add Suikoden 2 to the list. Greatly overlooked in its era but nevertheless, deserves to be called a classic.

If we are talking turn-based, I am ashamed for you that you didn't mention Shadow Hearts with its wheel of fate system. It is similar to legend of Dragoon, but I feel that it is an improved version with more features and difficulty. Also? Xenogears and Legend of Legaia, for having pretty much the same connect-the-moves combat dealies going on, both lots of fun.

Oh lawd, Grandia. Good times have been spent with that game, definitely awesome and definitely underrated.
Shadow Hearts, obviously very awesome as well. Great combat system, although it might lead to a bit of facepalming at oneself's rhytmical abilities at times.
Another ridiculously underrated classic would be "Legend of Legaia" on the PS1, one of the god damn best turn-based RPG's I've ever played, featuring the god damn best turn-based combat system I've ever seen even up to this day. Freestyle combo up in this bitch.

Secret of Mana? Turnbased? o_O More like ARPG to me.
Here goes my little list
- Basically all Tengai Makyo games, especially Zero for SNES
- Romancing Saga series
- Wild Arms series, especially 1+3. Rarely see love for that series
- Dragon Quest III, IV and V (at least in the western hemisphere)
- POKEMON for gods sake.
- Xenogears
