Valkyria Chronicles 3 -Unrecorded Chronicles-

They updated the website with the new TGS Video and some news.

Date of Release and official title is revealed 21 January 2011



The animation looks so crisp for the PSP, even better than VC 2.

- The story will take place at the same time as the Gallia X Empire War, So expect to see some Cameo's or even battles with the characters from VC 1

-Looks like we're going to control a Gallian Special Ops, that's why it was "never recorded" in history. Even your team members are named by only numbers. Even till the point they're "discriminated" and Kurt AKA 07 (main male protag) Vows to get his name back.

STORY
"You play as members of Nameless, a Gallian Army squad that does the army's dirty work. The squad gets its name because its members, consisting mostly of criminals and other troublemakers, are referred to by a number rather than a name.

The three main characters have a number and name listed in the magazine. In the hero role is Kurt Irving, No. 7, a former officer who doesn't think he should have been relegated to the Nameless squad and wants to return to his former squad. The game has two heroines, Imuka and Riela. Imuka is out for revenge, her village having been wiped out by the Valkyria. Riela doesn't know it when the game starts out, but after the prologue she'll learn that she's a Valkyria descendent. "

GAMEPLAY
On the gameplay front, Valkyria 3 promises a return to the original in some areas along with refinements from part 2 in other areas. Progression is no longer mission-based, instead switching to the story driven setup of the original. The game's battle interface has been refined. You'll find more options for strategy, as the various unit classes have clearer roles, and the battle fields are going to be more expansive and varied.

There will also be some totally new elements, most notably a heroine-specific "Super Mode." This mode taps into the traits of the character, so Imuka, who's big on guns (she even makes her own) will unleash the full power of her weapons. Riela's Super Mode is a Valkyria mode.

Gameplay footage looks neat. I believe I just found a reason to buy myself a PSP for real now. IT deserves that much attention after all.

Story wise, if we get to meet Alicia and all the other characters from the first episode, how glad would I be.

Psp it is then, i guess even i will get to this, altough im not a big handheld player.

well, you don't "have too" be one, to enjoy a game. :D
If I don't have any "MUST-PLAY games" to play in the PSP, I usually use it as a "bedtime playing" to get sleepy.

The story seems interesting and more mature. I just hope the localization will be faster this time :)
(But i'm busy playing VC2 at the moment, and it's great ^^)

god...i don't care what system its on anymore..i just want some real fucking story depth..i've played VC2 up down and fucking sideways and besides some better charecter progression the story is crazy weak...i really just want an epic , yet emotional story like the first..not this god damn after-school special like anime :(

Surprised to see another VC game for the psp. Glad that their is since the second one is good (well, better than good in my opinion.)Although, I'm a bit perplexed why they sticking with the psp than PS3, but think the commentary from VC2 says it all.

"Translator: It's difficult for us to comment on because, actually, we weren't thinking about specific platforms when designing the game. And it just turns out, we developed for the PS3 and this time we chose PSP as the platform. We do take into consideration, in terms of game design, and delivering the game world and experience to the users. This time, we thought PSP was the ideal platform to do that. It's as simple as that. But, it's because of this that discussions became kind of widespread, and people started asking questions "why there's no 360 version?" We don't want to say anything that would enrage the fire of that discussion."

Again is this from Joystiq interview with the team on second game, not the third. Speaking of which, the third in the previews don't look so bad, just hoping it is the finish project.

Love the 1st&2nd VC and now we`re having a third game, can`t wait for this.

And if there`s gonna be a cameo or two from welkin`s side
that would make things sweeter for me. :)

Well it's just me(?) but that was my impression of her when I saw her picture and when she was described as someone as a person with a short fuse. Anyway, nothing wrong with that in the way I see it. :)
