What kind of specs would I need to run modern eroges well?

I'm laptop shopping for the first time, and upgrading from a 7+ year old XP, so I'm excited at the prospect of finally being able to play some some eroges, and I'm trying to figure out what exactly I'll need.
I imagine most VNs would be relatively non-demanding, but how much power would I need to run things like the 3D "sex simulators" (Artificial Academy etc.) in 1080p with all the effects?
How do most games fare with Windows 8.1?
Also, will full-disk encryption basically ruin my chances of running them at a decent speed?
One more thing, is saying 'eroge game' redundant in the same was as 'RPG game' or 'FPS shooter'?
Thanks!
(Sorry if this thread would be more at home in Computers and Technology, if that's the case I'll delete it and re-post it there.)

How do most games fare with Windows 8.1?Depends on the game, but most of them have compatibility issues and very old H-games won't run because different OS. That being said it's usually fairly easy to change the compatibility mode to circumnavigate this problem which usually works.

Although, this being my first time computer shopping on my own, I'm completely inexperienced with what to expect from what components. Most people tend to forget about their fans, you can get leeway if you live in a cold place but it's generally a good idea to make sure the case is spacious and properly ventilated. That graphics card is petty which will definitely hurt you when wanting to play graphics intensive games but those are pretty expensive and you can survive with this much.

Thanks for the advice! Luckily I live in Canada (although summers here can actually get pretty hot) and the cooling system is apparently of particular apeal for the model I'm looking at.
I don't really play computer games much, so for the GPU, as long as it gives me lagless eroges I should be fine.
Now I just need to decide on the type of potato. Would you reccomend russet or yukon gold?
Is needing AppLocale for Japanese games still a thing on newer OSs?

This actually makes me curious too. I would think that an integrated graphics solution would work just fine for visual novels but I don't have any supporting evidence. I doubt anyone benchmarks VNs too. Can anyone share any relevant experience?

As far as the integrated graphics solution is concerned I'm going to be a little off topic here but I own Demon Master Chris which is an rpg. However after I installed it and tried to play without the disc it required me to upgrade my graphics however when I put the disc in it ran just fine. Don't know if that really answered anything but for some games that have integrated graphics it should work fine regardless of your graphics as long as you keep the disc.
