What makes one a hardcore gamer?
How about this? A hordcore-gamer is one how loves playing games and play games for fun? A Hardcore-gamer is one how likes a games even thou many ppl say it sucks.
I don't now, but that is my opinion on it.

To a lot of people it depends on what games you play, which often turns into play shooters and action games. I think most would agree that it just means a person who plays games as more than a casual diversion, an actual in-depth hobby.

hardcore gamer... anyone who got 3 hours of sleep on the morning of a final exam because they just wanted to complete one more mission (ie me last tuesday playing fallout 3 till 5am)

For better or worse everyone knew it was hardcore, but people either loved it or hated it for the revolutionary rebounding shield mechanic. Praised by some and hated by others, almost all of them PC elitists, ironically. <.<

And i wont say that i'm a hardcore gamer,because it is not for me to decide.
But here are some things that i do: My sleep and classes *16 hours* other than sleep and attend class i play video games non stop.
I completed almost every JRPG game that i knew *on every console* so far.
I like to play different genres *especially Fightings and Racings*
Every game that i'm playing,i complete it on 100% *example:some secret dungeons and etc. are open only on second/third playthrough,and you get special weapons/armours/conversations for them*

for me a hardcore gamer would be someone willing to place alot of time practicing a certain game over and over until he/she is at a point where they basically know all the tricks and trades and all the secrets.
Essentially, someone who has gotten 100% completion in a game and is still playing it

I would say anyone that owns more than four gaming systems is pretty hardcore...even more so if they play them all regularly.

I consider myself a hc gamer, I devote alot of time to play cod and jrpgs, which is a good combi i believe.
Basically gaming is pleasing for the human mind, in addition in later years different games and consoles has made gaming accessible for the majority.

Whats with the Wii hate? Hardcore can't own a Wii? Give it a rest, hardcore people would own anything they have the money to buy.
The only real way to tell how hardcore you are is how much time you spend on games. People who are champions at street figter or tekken only play figting games, they'd suck at FPS or JRPGS but they still are hardcore because all that time they put in.

Hardcore gamers play games even if they suck *but mostly because they are from the same series you like*. And i brought WII just for Super Smash Bros Brawl,and i like the console itself.
