Blade and Soul!!! It's an excellent KR MMORPG with fast action packed gameplay!! Not released in the NA or EU. Soon to be released (rumor) in 2014...

I really hope they stop putting so much effort and development time in graphics (which seems all of them are investing a lot of resources) and spend some more on game mechanics, story and so. I mean, graphics are always nice, but they trend to forget that not "every" PC can run their "ultra-realistic high CPU consuming graphic games", but that is just my wish.
Anyway, depending on what SOE does with the new EverQuest Next, probably, Wild Star or Blade & Soul will earn that award.

MMO's I will be playing are;
> FF XIV: Realm Reborn
> Wildstar
> ESO
With that said, I'm going to say Wildstar might win MMORPG of the year.

Mine would have to be on FFXIV: ARR. An MMO pulling off something never down before is in and of itself a feat that should be recognized. To be successful on top of that should be rewarded.

i'd like it to be guild wars 2.
but guild wars players are too busy being guild wars players, so it wont happen again.

i have played guild wars 2 it was good until certain part of it then it is like done. maybe i like first due to cross mixing class the second one didnt have that.
for FFXIV a realm reborn might be in the running with some other once it gets start the other that were mention i have not heard of them or played them. so i will give them a go.

i got the beta key... everyone can at this point now...
its pretty, and the combat is very traditional. i dont know much beyond this point.
i'd play, if someone could confirm me that the game doesnt requires monthly subscription.

the beta for the realm reborn is free but the next beta is in early month in august.
so if you want to play that week your welcome to do so. in fact i recomend it.

Wild Star looks like it'll be the overall best just because its funny, but FFXIV:ARR is a really close second.
GW2 is definitely the best maintained MMO out there right now though, and if the bi-weekly patches actually bring legitimate build variety, we're going to see a renaissance.

My vote is Guild Wars 2 this year, but next year it is hands down Elder Scrolls Online.I don't know about this. So far it looks promising with all the updates they have shown us. However with a famous IP as Elder Scrolls and with the Hype I just hope it doesn't turn into SWTOR.

Please don't let Elder Scrolls turn into SWTOR. I loved SWTOR and played it for a long time due to the boons over WoW. Cutscenes, voiced dialogue and meaningful class storylines. But the membership is way down.

would try online elder scrolls but im little tad afraid if the traviling system is the same as its predicessors.

For me ESO would win my vote if it is as open world as the console games have been. Travel system, gameplay and even graphics comes afterwards.
I've wasted countless hours in Oblivion and Skyrim just wondering around the lands and finding my own adventure or in Skyrim's case being a dragon hunter and house buyer/maker.
So if they make ESO very much an open world then yea I guess this would win. Though I'm not sure if it will De-throne WOW since by this time everyone has WOW so entrenched in their minds that only WOW can kill itself.

We going by number of active players and largest subscription base? It's pretty obvious who's still the winner, unfortunately.
By preference? I'd vote GW2 or TERA, in the West. Can't comment on the Eastern MMOs since we're pretty much removed from all the exotic things out there in Korea and Japan.

I haven't played ESO, but I loved most of the Elder Scrolls games so I'll probably give that a shot. I've heard great things about Blade and Soul and the playstyle they boast seems pretty incredible.
It's not new, but I'm always sad that the Monster Hunter MMO was never released outside of Japan.

You can try the alpha server of Blade & Soul here http://bns.atomixro.com/ . It's only alpha so it's lacking compared to the closed beta and open beta.
Most of the hyped up mmos from Korea and Japan have stopped advertising in NA, for example Blade & Soul (last update on a NA server was Jan 2013) and PSO2 NA server (Last official update on the NA server was winter 2012).
