Lol, I hate the "Terrorize" missions, zombies are too OP.... lolI hate those missions too. My counter to Chryslids (the giant bugs that make said zombies) is my sniper (A colonel with 56 confirmed kills) with the In The Zone and Squad Sight skills. Once he has a good rifle, he can fucking tear those bugs apart without even ending his turn. Also, it's a good idea to bring a few assault guys and make the most of their Run And Gun skill. That way, you can have them dash and not leave them defenseless should they run into any enemies.

Having finally beaten it, I have learned only one thing: fucking invest in archangel and give it to a sniper. Outdoor missions have never been easier.
I'm probably going to have nightmares about the last boss room. So lucky I wasn't playing with ironman.

I messed up bad, and I think I have to replay the whole thing.
I didn't prepare right, but The Hyperrelay thing was finished, the big UFO came, I haven't made the plane to intercept it, low on eliriums and alloys, Countries withdrawing here and there.. I was just fucked.

I hate my habit, every time a character dies, I always restart the stage. No matter what the cost. Lol

I'm starting to come up with the belief that Squad Sight only really works when it wants to. There's been numerous times when most of my squad could have eyes on at least half a dozen enemies, but my sniper who's further back (on higher elevation, and with a clear line of sight), won't be able to target a single enemy to fire on. And this is coming from a trooper that'll perfectly nail an alien that's behind 3 sets of walls (on the opposite side of the board, mind you) just because he was on Overwatch when the poor extraterrestrial bastard wandered into one of my soldier's field of view.

Anyone tried using the 4 secret characters?
Tried using it when assaulting the cloacked UFO, the purple one.
Mowed down the aliens like it was nothing, damage was taken but didn't feel athing.
Sniper for 200% Accuracy lol, and Assault who has more than 100 Hp. XD

Lol gamefaqs only listed 4, Steve Martin wasn't in it.
EDit: I know why gamefaqs only has 4, Because I think "Steve Martin" is not a secret code name.
Just tried, nothing happens.

I guess Ufopaedia's mistake, then. Still waiting for my game to arrive, so haven't had a chance to try them yet.
edit: Looking through various sites for more information on this, the name is apparently present somewhere in the demo files, but not working in the game. I guess this explains how he ended up on that list.
edit2/bump: An interesting additional question popped up in my head on the hero units. Can they be customized (renamed, etc) after the hero conversion without losing their newly acquired abilities? Anyone tried this?
Finally got my game today, too busy with work to try this in the next couple of days, though.
Also, the manual is a joke as expected from today's games (at least it's even there, though), but what really makes it ridiculous is the included URL for downloading a proper manual, which in reality gives you exactly the same thing in PDF format. >_>

Welll... Just got my first sniper to Colonel rank with the archangel armor + squadsight, opportunist and damn good ground. Took on 3 elite mutons with just that sniper, all of them kept missing and this lad kept wailing to them with the plasma sniper rifle.
Sigh. Pity that I've been able to lose two colonels before getting this one geared up. Time for some sweet vengeance.

just lost my Classic/ironman game a couple of minutes ago.
I can defeat everything except sectopods. They rape my squad completely in a single turn. (2 sectopods turn up, Each shoot twice and all 4 shots are 15 Crit)
going to try classic again but no ironman

Chryssalids... Those damn Chryssalids. Actually gave up one terror mission because there were seemingly only Chryssalids there. And quickly multiplying, of course. Didn't help much that five of my six soldiers were rookies, either...

Chryssalids don't scare me as much as they do in the original X-com. The only turn poeple to zombie if they have been spotted, otherwise they just straight out kill people. usually the moment I spot them they get killed by my snipers.

Had just one sniper with me at that time, and was quite quickly overrun by the damn things. Bigger teams in the original make is easier to take them out quickly in my opinion, though. Was playing it while waiting for my new game to arrive, did not have quite as much trouble there. Of course, mortality rate was still insane as usual.

I did an iron man playthrough once...never again.
no matter how prepared you get there's always something that screws you up in the long run. I just save scum from now on. Less stressful that way.

Those Sectopods were a bit of a issue for me also. Until I decided to bring two Heavies to the front, instead of two supports / 2 assaulta / 1 sniper / 1 heavy. Having them suppress the sectopod lowers it's accuracy enough, so that it wont be hitting your guys on every shot at least.
And then there's the option to fire two rockets at the same turn to the pod.. 24 damage instant. Only needs a shot from a plasma rifle or such to put it down after that.
And heck, full psi-team with ranks varying from lieutenant to colonel makes things even more fun. Sending Muton Berserkers for example to fight the said sectopod.

Went into a Terror mission expecting Chryssalids and Muton Berserkers, and prepared for such. What I found were 2 Sectopods, a Cyberdisk, and a slew of drones. I feel I should mention that I was playing on Normal at the time...

Didn't help much that five of my six soldiers were rookies, either...That is why I rushed weapons research.. so for the fact that rookies can't aim for shit.. at least I gave them a gun that compensates.
