Xenogears - Emotional, beautiful... very confusing

Fucking god damn this fucking god damn game. I guess if im the FIRST one to actually make a post up about xenogears I might as well do it properly.

So I have been playing this game on a Emulator that's been running off my phone and I have been having just a freaking awesome time with it. Though I'm mostly just playing it to hear more of Yasunori Mitsuda's fine ass composing. The story seems really convoluted and clustered but I only blame that on a project trying to be to bold to quickly.

But holy fucking shit im so miffed. So i got to the part on the second disk where... ah you know what screw spoilers. This game is over 22 years old MAYBE longer or shorter. So I'm at the part where the Fei and Elly finally got it on. (Which i actually saw a old ass hentai on here illustrating said scene lol). And now im at Deus... yeah a boss a who halves everyones HP including his own.

I had to quit on this game because there is a glitch to where he only commit two of his halving attacks and when he tries to do a third he freezes up, i know there is a way to fix it by changing texture packs or something of that nature BUT i have no idea how to do that on the whole disk. NOT TO MENTION! the next fight that was right after that is Alpha Weltall a fight which I have read in many a walkthough to be UNBEATABLE without the exact three party members and the EXACT gear and strategy to beat him...

I don't have the gear and for the life of me after the second disk I DID NOT find a single vendor or town to stop in in my travels, as the rest of the game was just filled with nonstop plot and boss fight... so unfortunatly my whole playthrough of the whole game is down the crapper so now I have to resort to watching lets plays to just see the rest of the story... and god theres a lot of it. Better get to watching.

I don't think you can lose the last Weltall fight. It's a 1v1 battle where Fei refills his mech completely and is just a show off for story purposes. There's also the best vendor in the game in the area under the lighthouse, where you're supposed to take Emeralda to grow adult and become broken strong. I also don't remember any life halving... just kill the damn things orbiting Deus, they're meant to be the actual bossfight. I remember soloing Deus with Fei after throwing all my other characters at them.

All I remember is that Soylent Green is made of people. DON'T EAT IT!

This was the game that started my love for good rpgs on the PS1 days back in 2001, I think I played through the whole game the second time just for nostalgia's sake sometime after I completed the Xenosaga trilogy on the PS2. Citan was a beast once he got that katana near the end of disc 1. I really enjoyed the boss music in the game as well, one of my all time faves.

Yes, Deus was a pain for me too the first time around, but if you got Speed Shoes from stealing from a certain enemy during disc 2, you can make the entire team automatically faster than enemies once equipped, especially without ever having to use up extra fuel whenever they are in their Gears, making your fights easier.

One of my all time favorite rpgs. Great music, gameplay, characters and story. Been awhile since I played it though, so my memory of it is iffy.

I've had the same problem with Deus freezing on me constantly. So I picked up xenogears for ps3 off some classics sale. Will be playing it soon I guess.

Guess nobody mentioned it, but I believe the Deus freezing issue only happens on PS2's. Not sure if a hard copy on the PS3 has this issue, but I imagine the DL version shouldn't.

Also my favorite JRPG of all time next to Suikoden 2!
