While I was clamoring for a sequel, this wasn't where I imagined a second installment leading. I had ideas about the second installment involving the bisexual/ lesbian pursuits of Ural's "regular girl" female classmates or of us getting more backstory on where Ural is from and who she was before she arrived here. Instead, this installment gives us more take than give and our male protagonist keeps showing that getting what he wants is validation for essentially anything. EVERYTHING going on around them is justification for him taking what he wants from Ural. Can refusal ever actually be allowed to have no double meaning? Can't no MEAN no in these stories once in a while, where the female can decide what they want or don't want and when they do or don't and have that be accepted? I love Esuke's style, the work is always masterful but some of the story content will hit scenarios that--while established as fantasy--perpetuate unhealthy, nonconsentual tropes. There are infinite ways to fantasize, so much so that a creator would never need to repeat themselves unless they wanted to. Does the audience need or require so many examples of women with no ability to make the effective assertion of when to engage in sex, with whom, how long, and when not? Why do the female characters invariably get portrayed as not knowing what they need or want and have to be shown what's "good for them"...? When the fantasy becomes messaging, the authors and publishers have to be accountable because messages can set and normalize behaviors. Why normalize or enable tropes that directly or indirectly support rape culture? Esuke is an amazing creator, I don't ascribe negative intent of malice of forethought to their work, only the possibility of negative consequences or connections. Art has meaning.

Yes and yes but why hasn't anyone celebrated the glasses?!? Esuke checks EVERY box!
