Manga is kicking the ass of the American comic book industry,
which has been declining for years. The quality of the writing
is generally awful, thanks mainly to social justice messaging,
and the art is no better. At a time when a popular manga series
sells millions of copies, an American comic with a popular super-
hero character is lucky to sell 50,000 copies. Things are so bad
that the DC and Marvel comic companies might actually be shut
down by their respective corporate owners.
As for hentai in Japan, it sounds like the country is going through
one of its periodic censorship phases. Obscenity laws in Japan
are vague and capriciously enforced, which must drive the artists
crazy. I suspect a lot of Japanese readers come to Fakku to read
the uncensored versions of their favorite hentai chapters.
That's why I staunchly support Fakku, as a bastion of Free Expression.
