Not sure if the vanilla tag is actually appropriate here. The ending kind of implies that the MC doesn't really connect with Miyashita over anything other than sex and that's what's causing him distress. I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually break up (if the story continues) once the MC realizes that he doesn't actually love her.

EDIT: For context, thedecline18 mentioned something about adding a vanilla tag in their original comment, but they removed that part. Kind of makes this comment look stupid, in retrospect, without that important little detail.

EDIT2: Can't respond to comments, but I think H-Connoisseur hit the head on the nail. It really doesn't seem like the MC is guilty over "corrupting" Miyashita or whatever that typical trope is. I think he was superficially attracted to her and, at the end of the day, just wanted to have sex. The one thing that I will disagree on is the idea that he's selfish. I don't think he's selfish since he obviously seems to care about Miyashita, but he's definitely not much more than a young and horny teen.

My personal thoughts are also that the MC possibly feels guilt for potentially changing Miyashita's priorities. She quit track and her only focus now is their relationship.

I don't think it's a matter of him not really loving her. I think he feels guilty because a lot of the things things that made her, well, 'her' got distorted by their relationship as time went on. What used to be appreciating her many positive traits and cute dates with this timid yet strong girl turned into an exercise in fucking. He doesn't realize it in so many words, but he's worried he ruined the girl and it's eating him up inside that she seemingly cast everything else aside for the sake of an addiction to sex.

I'd say he's absolutely selfish, just not the malicious-type. He surprised her with the kiss and then when she seemed okay with the kiss, he went right to sex even though she was obviously feeling uncomfortable with going that far just yet. The vibe I got from this was that he was using sex with her as a distraction from how aimless his life had been after starting college and that he lacked the maturity to realize the unhealthy influence he was having on her. While I don't think he was just superficially attracted to her, the relationship ended up becoming superficial because of his immaturity.

I don't know how to feel about this. It's erotic, but it leaves a feeling like a bitter taste in my mouth. The boy knows that he may have made a mistake in their relationship, but I wonder if he realizes that the over-emphasis on having sex has more or less stunted his girlfriend's growth as a person, or, perhaps even worse, his actions have basically stripped her of many of the traits that led to him finding her endearing in the first place. She went from upright, kind, cheerful, and I daresay diligent to promiscuous, selfish, and lazy. While she seems to retain at least some of her original cheerful nature, everything else has changed because she seems to prefer having sex with her boyfriend over everything else, assuming I'm understanding things correctly. Then again, I'm pretty tired right now so I could be wrong, but those are the thoughts of my rather sleep-deprived mind.
