"I'm not taking that from a jobless man."
(page 3, panel 1) "I don't need pity from a drifter."
(page 3, panel 2) "If you want me back so badly, then you'd
better find a job and earn some money."
(page 16, panels 3-4) "A man is judged on his wealth and ability."

In Japan, a man without a job is nothing.
That cannot be overemphasized.
@EddieBeInBeddie:
Tamaki was already thinking about reuniting with her ex for sex (and simple
stress relief), but when he turns out to be a good cook and housekeeper, as
well as a good fuck, she (sensibly) starts thinking about marriage.
Our MCs are adults with few illusions and no unrealistic expectations,
but (as Tamaki realizes) they complement each other, so I think they'll
be fine---more than "functional."
Once they start living together and establish a comfortable routine,
Mr. Tamaki might even regain enough confidence to get a part-time
job, which is as much as Mrs. Tamaki can hope for.
"Yo Dawg, we know once in a while y'all want Deep Shit in your H-story, so artist-san dropped some Deep Shit in this H-story so when it clicks, y'all will agree: 'Whoa, Dat Was Some Deep Shit' at the Deep Shit in this H-story."
Personally think little more needs to be said except ... wait for it, .....
