It's summer time! Everyone has a chance to really let loose and make some special memories with the one they love. Hideya's finally going to confess his feelings to Ai at the science club's summer retreat. That's the plan, at least. Things take a turn when someone else tries to play matchmaker, but Hideya's determined to make this summer special!
Good lord this dude cannot catch a break! I didn't expect to feel so sorry for the poor guy! I won't ruin the ending, but this dude doesn't quite go home completely defeated.
Still, imagine you're about to enjoy some sweet vanilla ice cream on the perfect day. The sun is shining, there's a cool breeze, and all the elements are aligned to enjoy your sweet, sweet vanilla, the purest of ice cream flavors. Then, all of a sudden, a gust of wind knocks your ice cream over. You try to salvage it by taking what hasn't touched the floor, but then you find the ants have already made their move. Feeling defeated, you dust yourself off and try to enjoy the cone, but then it turns out someone's accidentally stepped on it, crushing it into ruined pieces. THAT is what this story is like.
That being said, it's Freedom Prophet. All the art is solid and there are parts that get a genuine chuckle. I always get a kick of how Freedom Prophet draws the nerdy characters, with their funny looking lips and whatnot.
