- Pricing of the content is inappropriate for poor economies, global services run by intelligent people reflect this. It's better to get half of the money than no money at all, right?
Fakku is nowhere as near as big as Steam. It's a shitty situation, but who knows if Fakku actually can adjust the price by region, especially when the service has only been around for less than 6 months.

- People such as myself don't like paying for things they might not like, thus resulting in additional white piracy.I can sympathize with this, but new content is always being added and if you don't like it, just cancel.

- FAKKU doesn't even allow users to support artists they like. Instead I'd have to pay a subscription for content of which I'll end up skipping 80-90%.That's what the books are for. Buy books to support specific artists. Jacob said he wants all artists in the subscriptions to be represented so that new artists get exposure and not just popular ones, which I can respect since I've actually come to like new artists as a result of the subscription.

- There isn't even enough available content to rival other sites, legal or not.Well, yeah, Fakku is starting from square one. I use Fakku in conjunction with other sites like Exhentai.

- Gimme my paper editions.Jacob said they might do a once a year "best of" edition, but it would be ridiculous to try and print monthly 400-500 pages each for two magazines in conjunction with the books and other projects with their team of like, 12.

Anyone know what tags the book would fall under?

I know Jacob said the artists can read the comments on manga--it would be cool if Gujira could see all the interest in this thread from westerners.

Day 1 buy. The Gujira subscription chapters are some of my favorites.

It depends for me. I have some favorites here that are great fap material for me, but the chances of me using the manga uploaded on any given day are slim. I'd have to like the art and be interested in the tags. If I want to find something specific (especially futa) I'll use Ex.

You know, I can accept all this, removing free material to build up a pay site. It's been done before, and it makes total economic sense. What I can't accept, what really bothers me, is the holier than thou message. The people running the site saying that they're doing this "for the artists" so more material comes to the US. It's not for the artists, it's for the money. Own up to it Fakku, it's for the money. Nothing wrong with that, it's a solid business approach, just don't say otherwise.agreed if they're going to do this at least admit it was for the money, and in the process of doing it they made three scanalation groups disband, one of which was translating doujin that wasn't even distributed by Wani so now those artist aren't getting "exposure". the worst part is now Fakku is part of Japan's fucked up business model which isn't consumer friendly at all and honestly just as bad as companies like Comcast EA, Ubisoft.
the hilarious thing about this is the irony now that Fakku is "legit", its being pirated which if I got all of the digital versions from the store would be $120 USD and if I wanted physical copies that would be around the $300 USD range.
They made three scanalation groups disband? What the fuck. That's the cherry on top of all this bullcrap. They made their name sharing the works of others, and now that this relationship didn't suit their purposes, they hurt those they once relied on. The hypocrisy is palpable.
Think for yourself. Don't be mindless and believe anything someone says just because they say it. The original poster hasn't proven that Fakku did anything.

(This is going to be a long one)After a week of my mind being constantly distracted by this whole "Fakku has fallen" fiasco, I've come to a conclusion; I don't really like this new route that Fakku is taking.
In the past, Fakku was my go-to site to find doujins, and now I am unable to do that. As a long time user of Fakku, and even one who recommended this site to others, I spent 2016 in absolute shock. All the tags were empty, with only paid content left. I understand that in the future there will be free content, but until then Fakku is just stuck behind the paywall that Fakku users of 2015 were afraid would take over. It feels like maybe a bit more pre-planning could have made this impact less...dramatic.
To make a comparison, this Fakku change has a lot in common with Valve and Skyrim mods. There was a point where they tried to charge the community for mods, and the mod community made such an uproar that the decision was reverted. Now don't get me wrong, I fully support doujinshi artists, but I don't feel like removing all the free content on a dime was the best idea.
On a different note, doing this feels like a slap in the face for those who enjoyed Fakku for what it was, a site to casually browse doujins. Now after changing the site without so much as a vote, it feels like the community we all once loved has turned into a business model. It's like the state of Louisiana completely demolishing New Orleans, leaving only expensive restaurants, and handing out fliers to the now dazed and confused Mardi Gras that say "Time to industrialize."
I don't want to sound rude, but as of this exact moment, all Fakku is is a paywall site, a husk of what was a greater site where the user and the site had such great relationships that even a dedicated RPG flash game was made for it, but now I probably need a subscription for that once free feature, too.
I half expected some big event to kick off on Fakku when 2016 arrived, but I would have never expected something like this. At least, not from you guys.
So, thanks Fakku. It's been a great few years, and I was hoping for a few more, but until this whole situation gets sorted out, I will always be hoping somewhere in the back of my mind that this was all just some bad dream.
Cheers.
Unfortunately for you, this decision won't be reversed. Going from legit back to illegal is stupid. Also holding a vote would have been pointless since obviously the majority would have been keep pirated manga onsite. Also, lol, you can play that flash RPG again (for free).
In any case, it's unfortunate you feel this way, but it's the way it's going to be. There are many other sites out there you can use. I use ExHentai and then Fakku for the awesome uncensored hentai. So you can pout about something you can't change or move on to new things or be a supporter.

I think we need a new Tag report thread in here. :DRemoved the tag from "There's Someone I Want to Introduce You To", as you need some Eye rolling + tongue to be qualified as Ahegao..lol
Added the Ahegao tag to Divine Shame.
Agree with you on the tagging and I'm currently going through all of the works I can see atm and checking on their tags so they should be a bit more organized in a couple of days. Jake gave me the OK to resume editing tags.
Sweet. I appreciate the effort Misaki.

Fakku's tagging has always been adequate for my purposes--I never needed to refine a search too much. But one problem I have is how the Ahegao tag is so loosely thrown around.
For example, this manga (Cold Bitch Student Council President) has great, traditional ahegao at its finest and is awesome. I'm sure all fans of it would agree.
This manga (There's Someone I Want to Introduce You to) (while I enjoyed it) is tagged ahegao but there is really no ahegao. Maybe for a panel or 2.
And then lastly, this manga (Divine Shame) quite clearly has ahegao, but was not tagged as such. Only by chance did I happen to find it.
This probably sounds like a petty complaint, but for people who have more niche fetishes, it's important to accurately know where to find them. Especially now that this is a subscription service and many potential subscribers are hesitant because their fetish doesn't have many manga to view. It's also important to tag correctly because of the follow function that informs you when a tagged manga is uploaded and in the future when the tag blacklist Jacob says he'll implement becomes a thing. It'd be a shame for someone to blacklist ahegao and then miss out on a manga that actually had none.
So, I guess I'm just hoping that more attention is paid to the Ahegao tag at least in the future because it is a tag I and many others love and nothing is more disappointing than seeing a manga tagged ahegao and then seeing none. I realize what ahegao is can be up for interpretation, but if you've read hentai manga with ahegao, I'm sure you can form a baseline.

Not a bad idea. I could get behind this for the Fakku Books. As for individual manga chapters, eh, I think people kind of do that in the comments anyway, sort of.

If you honestly care about rep (for whatever reason), just never talk about it. What you do on the site is gonna dictate your rep.

This is good. I was always hesitant to be "that guy" and leave a comment on a manga solely to point out a spelling or grammar error if I saw one.
