That's exactly how I felt Monday this week, but thankfully Dell has awesome service and they're going to repair it/replace it for me free.
Only thing that sucks is that translating manga on a really old laptop (with a tiny screen and keyboard).

Ahaha, it sounds like you have ridiculously high expectations for Japan. You're either going to be bitterly disappointed, or become a almost religious supporter of it (e.g. Danny Choo).

And if he is as incompetent as you say, which is true, why are you still here and do you think he will actually read this and fix anything because of this? Not like 95% of this hasn't been pointed out before already. Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying its all acceptable but there isn't much you can do about it. I learned after all this time of working with him to just called him a lazy fuck and be done with it. If you don't like it you can always use the door.
That sounds like a Republican response to a criticism from 2003 or something.
Well its sorta true considering he most likely isn't going to fix such things as people have been bitching at him to do it for quite some time although it doesn't seem like it.
Bit confused by your post. Are you essentially saying "Give up"?

I don't find your point invalid at the least, I'm just questioning its ability to solve anything and asking, now that you have provoked response and thought from the community, how are you to now affect the boy who is as you say irresponsible and apathetic because of sloth like actions we have seen so vagrantly?Oh, thank you for the clarification. I was mildly confused.
This thread alone will not be my only action, but I believe it to address points that no one has been addressing publicly. It also proves my ability to locate and determine serious errors.
It is hopefully insulting enough to garner attention from such administration. Even if I am not selected as a logical code monkey, I would think it will provoke administration to change before change is forced upon them.
XD And there we have it. While I have to say that for a fact we have been addressing it publicly, perhaps not with as much vigor or stalwartness, I'm assured that atleast some good will come from this. But as my dear waartortle suggested, much good is to be garnered from direct confrontation, it has lead to small actions being undertaken in the past and I'm sure with direct and undeniable prose it can do such again. Best of luck as change here seems to be held by a boulder.Enciting revolt is all good until we reach a breaking point where we in fact can suffer or cause negative repercussion.
For Christ sake, it's a site, not a fucking country. Stop overdramatizing things. I have to admit that the OP is being wordy and dramatic about this, but Jacob is pushing it. You can only say that you're working on it or that you're too busy only so many times.
The main flaw with this site is that everything is top to bottom. Only a small number of users can upload content, and while there's the danger of prohibited or spam content to be posted, the inclusion of users actually makes the site "cleaner". A mod might miss 1-2 things when a lot is uploaded, but at least one of the million of users would catch it. Something as simple as tagging in Gelbooru, or expunging galleries in e-hentai.

Not sure exactly how the metaphor works, but it's basically "in their grave", as in "rolling in his/her grave".
胸をãªã§ä¸Šã‚ã—ã¦ã‚‹
Means sort of like "relieved". Again, metaphor.
So I don't know. You could take a lot of liberties with the line.
I personally would go with something more like: "I'm sure your parents would be relieved".
But again, a lot of times I adjust the sentence so that it flows better with the previous one and the entire story as a whole. I have no idea what exactly made the sentence offensive (the metaphor/phrase? Or something before?).
BTW, check your messages please.

Hmm I get everything in the sentence, but 兄貴夫婦 is the only one throwing me off. If I had more time I could find out what it means (a few JAVs use the word, lol), but my best guess is that it means "brother and his wife". Again, if I could read the previous pages I could confirm this.
Quick and dirty translation:
I'm sure your parents are sighing in relief down in their graves.
Something like that. You should play with it to make it sound better.

Is there another word for people who meet, plan, and co-operate an act?Conspirator simply has a negative connotation. If you and I exchange emails, planning a lunch, than we become conspirators.

In technicality, I do not own any stock. However, if I was a shareholder, equal taxation and liability would cause me to more closely examine the companies I invest in.
What I'm proposing simply strengthens the rule of law. When a corporation does something unsavory, like unjustly terminating unionizers, releasing products that haven't been properly tested, or creating instability through excessive speculation; not only do the minor investors bear the weight, through financial risk, but larger ones could face potential jail time.
It strengthens the moral fiber of the country, and makes for a more stable economy.

I also don't believe in unlimited growth, and think that the US should strive for closed loop potential. But, that's a different thread of discussion entirely.
What you're proposing is to essentially get rid of the financial system, which would mean that we wouldn't be able to distribute capital efficiently.
Stockholders shouldn't be accountable for wrong doing on the part of management or employees. To make them responsible is simply ridiculous and the costs of supervision are way too high compared to the benefits of doing so.
Imagine what would happen if you wanted to invest in a diversified portfolio of Coke, Pepsi, IBM, Microsoft, etc. Are you saying that the stockholder should be responsible for monitoring all those companies? And let's remember how fucking huge and intricate a corporation's operations are and how there's things that aren't disclosed (for example, Apple doesn't reveal its R&D even to its stock holders). What you're saying is moralistic and grandiose BULLSHIT.
If we banned corporations and stocks, money would just sit in the bank. And money sitting in the bank is simply paper.

I believe that the concept of corporation became outmoded with the invention of the electric calculator. These entities should be treated as they are, a mass of stockholders. Private citizens, who pool their money to achieve a common goal.
As such, they can be taxed, limited, and imprisoned as any other group of conspirators.
Err. So you don't own ANY stocks?

Britain and Germany can do whatever the fuck they want. Countries like Greece, Ireland and Spain have fucked them over so hard it's not funny because of their own fraudulent economic behaviours and not following simple guidelines and rules in an attempt to reap as many benefits as they could rather than building for a sustainable economy. Unlike the US which has made the same mistakes, the Eurozone doesn't have China to bail it out. There are only going to three possible solutions to this crisis. Either there's going to be reforms on tighter regulations and control on capitalism and the free-market and Germany/Britain bail countries out again (highly unlikely to happen as every country are only self-interest political dickheads) or more likely the debt will just get passed down to the poor while the rich get bailed out and tax rates and inflation sky-rocket for future generations to pay off. The other possibility is revolution and anarchy.
TBH if i were living in a country involved heavily in the eurozone or in England/Germany/France, i would heavily consider migrating or if that's not possible, begin withdrawing all my funds from banks and keeping my cash in a safe.
1) Spain had a budget surplus before the economic downturn.
2) Germany reaped the rewards by creating a system where they ran huge current account surpluses. In short, they exported a lot to the Southern countries.
3) Revolution and anarchy aren't solutions, they're bad ends.

Doujinshi doesn't have to expensive, at least its outright cost. The measures needed to obtain it at those prices will cost quite a bit, flying to Japan, attending Comiket/other events, buying at shops and all that. I hope you can offer more than just vanilla or old content.Well that's why economies of scales is REALLY important. You don't want to be doing stuff in individual bits. A common solution is to just hold some inventory, but that's actually a pretty significant change to what Fakku is IMHO.
Also, you need to consider so many things. Like the credit worthiness of customers. I wouldn't exactly trust the people who buy stuff like this (probably on credit). You'll have to account for bad debt expense.
I mean, there's two outcomes. If it's small scale, then it won't be very profitable. But that'll actually be more preferable to the alternative IMHO, which is that it gets big, and the responsibilities and stakes get really high.
Think of something as simple as shipping on time and logistics... That's really tough on its own.
So I'm a bit curious on your Fakku store. Are you going to just be a importer? I can't see you holding onto inventory, unless you plan to instantly go to the big leagues against J-List and whatnot. If so, I find it hard how you're going to be able to keep prices affordable since you won't have economies of scale in your favor.
Do you also have someone at Japan buying the goods for you? How stable is the working relationship? This is actually a pretty serious thing you're starting, unlike that Kitty Media thing that sort of just quietly ended.

Over the next few days/weeks we have a lot of awesome things planned (including releasing the FAKKU store to the public)! Have you ever wanted to buy a copy of Fate/stay night that isn't ridiculously overpriced? Ever wanted to own a hard copy of your favorite hentai manga or doujinshi?[/b][/color][/h]
Wow, this sounds pretty ambitious. Hope you have a good business model for it. Best of luck.
Edit: And happy birthday!
The basic process of scanlating an ero manga is:
1) Scanning (unless you have connections or money though, most groups probably don't consider this step and just take what's given)
2) Translating
3) Editing
Ignoring 1) we essentially have 2 types of people in the scanlation world: Translator and Editors
A lot of problems is that we have isolated groups that have a set of translators and editors, one being greater than the other (or more productive) and usually there'll be either a shortage or surplus of translation scripts.
It'll be nice essentially if there could be some kind of centralized "hub" or "marketplace" where people could post that they have a translated script and need an editor with contact info.
For example, here's a sample one I made:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Akier6EZHQH1dHIyU1J4akJxbzE3aFhSdHZMNXhkUmc&hl=en_US#gid=0
Question to you guys:
Do you know of anything in real life that would parallel this? Something like a market for a good or a industry? If we can find one, and there's programs out there for it, we can essentially copy it.
Or if you guys have any idea of making one with a program, please feel free to share it.
