I think the Atelier series is a bit underrated. Well, at least the Arland trilogy on the PS3. I haven't played any of the older PS2 ones.

The Iaito was one of my favorite weapons in Dark Souls. The draw slash is pretty awesome and katanas are just great dex weapons in general. I used it for most of the game but then I started using the Lifehunt Scythe in my second play-through. I do hope they add more katanas in Dark Souls 2 though.
