I was looking at the prices for both Comic X-Eros and Comic Kairakuten magazines on amazon.jp and they are priced around 4-6 dollars (new, August edition, not counting shipping). It would be awesome to get the physical (translated) magazines too.
You have to understand we'd have to then translate those books, edit those books, send the content to China and send drafts to the united states, approve/make changes, send changes, and then print (2) 400+ page books... and it'd have to be available every month. It takes ~2 months for a normal size 200 book to be printed and shipped to the United States and mailed out.
The subscription gives you an online service monthly without the long ass wait.
I thought this was already in the process. If it takes more than two months to print and ship then print domestically, it'll save on shipping costs too. I'm sure the US didn't destroy their only printer in that scene from "Office Space".
If you've paid attention in the forums we've talked quite extensively about printing and trying to find local printers. The US doesn't want to print this type of material in chance of some of their other customers find out and not want to associate themselves with that printer.
I should add that amazon.jp doesn't ship outside japan so you would have to use a proxy service. So your 4$ would be 4+3+4+3=14 (book, japan shipping, proxy fee and us ship) then you have to have japanese card or payment... at least I did. So you would either have to find prepay cards or use a proxy payment service.
There are issues on Amazon.com and they ship from nipon. But less sellers and harder to search for.
