Five books. But here's another hypothetical maybe Jacob can't give half price for the digital because it cost him nothing and printing the books cost more. So to give a 50% discount or even a 30 percent discount would not be worth it because he's not making a profit. Remember Jacob still has to pay wani, artist and the translator, editor so forth.

Those 40 chapters are unlikely to be interesting to everyone. On average you could assume that half of those are something you'd be interested in per month.
The more "exotic" you fetishes are the more that number decreases.
With the removal of alot of tags will there even be 6-7 chapters per month I'd care about?
I don't mind paying for the individual pieces I want, however I doubt that the monthly thing would be worth it for my subjective case.
If you find yourself in the camp that would enjoy above half the chapters per month, good for you.
That the magical thing. The interwebs has it all. One can still find stuff you like and still read paid stuff. Plus if you say well I'll pay for individual chapters of what you like then you're really paying more for less. 4 or 5 chapters would pay for the 40. But they wouldn't do individual chapters anyways. It will be online somewhere else with in the week anyways. No one ever escapes the pirate machine. Jacob doesn't really doesn't care even if they do get uploaded somewhere for free.
Of course 4-5 chapter idea is hypothetical. One of the translators put up the idea if there was a chapter buying option then 2 bucks would be somewhat the charge. If a dollar was given then 7-9 is a ballpark.

Sounds pretty good to be honest.
My main concern in all of this is really just "Will they be able to produce enough content to be worth the "per month cost" model they seem keen on implementing.
I endorse the main idea of getting more licensed material translated and being able to buy the stuff I like to support the artist.
But from what I can see we are only getting the big names, the indies/doujinshis are left out. DLsite offers alot of doujinshi works for sale, so it shouldn't be impossible to fix all of this legal hassel they keep refering too.

Freak. Lurking since 2009 member since 2010. That the time I was in the army and wanted to read something from home. Then then I was discharged and spend the time working and losing parts of my body. Mind was lost a long time ago. Now I'm trying to walk up hill and climb without 1/3 of my right foot. Most of my personal work is spend in the mountains and forests.
