Yeah I want the Ravens to win too. I just don't see Flacco having a good game. If the Ravens are still in it mid way through the 3rd quarter, I'd predict the Ravens to hang in there and win.

I have. I took them down when on several occasions people used them as their avatars. At first it was sorta funny, but the most recent time was not as amusing. It is probably somewhere on this forum as it was "quoted" several times.

Ask Tsujoi - maybe he really does keep copies of everyone's pictures.

It depends on your perception of "biased". To be biased means you are *favoring one person or side over another;". I meant this definition when I said subjecting yourself to bias was what it meant to be judged.

Hind sight, probably not the best term to use despite only using it as a little joke. When I say the judges are "unbiased" I mean it in the colloquial sense "tendency [that] interferes with the ability to be impartial, unprejudiced, or objective.. In other words, bias is generally seen as a 'one-sided' perspective". This isn't the original definition of bias, but it is what "bias" is perceived as by most people - something that interferes with impartial judging or decision making.

In this sense, the judges are not at all bias.




Ah, I see. Well I feel I did Classy. I let in a wide array of different types of writing and in particular writings that are not considered you average contest entry variety. That said, if the writing did not have merit beyond trying to incite people's ire, or mocked the spirit of the contest, I didn't allow it. If the author of that piece was boarder line on their entry, I PM'd them. If anyone PM'd me or posted asking why their entry wasn't allowed, I listened and explained why not and even allowed their entry if warranted.

Nobody who blatantly broke the rules (unfortunately some people either just missed the deadline or forgot to submit a link to their entry) ever complained to me or asked for an explanation or exception.

Not one.

I hope that answers your question and the questions of anyone else thinking the same thing.

Aw, Classy... If I need to explain those seemingly contradicting statements, you might not be as clever as I assumed you were. I'm going to go do other stuff, then when I come back I'll edit this post and "enlighten" you.

But really quickly, on the off chance you are indeed concerned about the judging being "biased", I assure you it isn't. If you can't take my word for it and the word of everyone else who participated, I can only say that I think you are a bit paranoid. Also, nothing else I can say will change your mind, but I'll try... later though. When I'm not so hungry. Check back in a while.
