When i went in last year for the knee infection i had no insurance and my VA benefits sucks so i still owe them 4 grand which i'm not gonna pay jack shit since four mins of a doctors time isn't worth 3500$ I did pay the hospital cost since you know the nurse help more and the shots and shit. Some reason the hospital and the doctor's bills are two different invoices. The hospital made sure they gonna get paid before i got hacked.

It depends on what insurance you have and it's deductible. The insurance should of sent you there billing on what they paid for and on the hospital bill there should be what they got vs what you need to pay. If the hospital wants there money they will work out something with you. There really nothing they can do to you if you don't pay. Collections will mail you shit every week and call you three time a day. they might give you a discount and qualify you for charity write off since their bottom line is inflated to the extreme.
