Just a random thing from me, most people I know bought a PS3 for the cheap blu-ray player. Games came second to them.I have a HDTV so yah the main reason for me was im a sony fan then games then blu ray everything else is a bonus to me.

Well sony can't just reduce the price. Only recently they have been able to make product costs lower.

that will probably be true because the ps3 is starting to get some good games out but xbox still has the edge at the momentAgreed at the moment.
Heres a interesting bit of info. The PS3 will make more money in software then the wii will in hardware sales by 2012.
