One of the reasons is that selling a male character to a consumer base that is heavily male dominated is hard. Take Sunohara for example in Clannad. There are a lot of people who hated that guy. Verses say Archer from Fate Stay Night who is universally loved by the male populace (not literally of course. Everyone hates someone.). The formula for attractive well liked female isn't that hard but it is different for male characters and secondary characters. This is just one way that I see it.
There is also the fantasy factor that every guys dream is to have a willing harem that know each other and often have sex together. It's a nice dream and who wouldn't want it? It's a very easy story to write out and produce which is why most VNs feature this is some forms. Bottom line, sex sells. When that sex is with 3 to 10 girls it sells even better.
Ménage à trois anyone?

As I expected really after reading everyone's death description. Tho secretly I was hoping it would say Saber for some reason. I wonder why?
You Scored as XIII: Death
Death is probably the most well known Tarot card - and also the most misunderstood. Most Tarot novices would consider Death to be a bad card, especially given its connection with the number thirteen. In fact this card rarely indicates literal death.Without "death" there can be no change, only eventual stagnation. The "death" of the child allows for the "birth" of the adult. This change is not always easy. The appearance of Death in a Tarot reading can indicate pain and short term loss, however it also represents hope for a new future.

The reliability rate on the xbox is pretty high +50%Verses the PS3's reliability which is +80%. It's just a better buy then the 360. You say you don't need blu ray now but I thought the same when I first got the PS3 and I am watching Blu ray movies all the time now. Ever watched the movie Sunshine on regular dvd and then watched it on Blu ray? The difference is huge. I came to the visuals of that movie. If you don't have a HDTV then I agree the Blu ray isn't a factor for you but reliability with a console is nice.
I would go with the PS3 slim. Blu ray player plus a game console that has some awesome games, gets all the great third party titles as the 360 and has some awesome exclusives and even some of the "exclusives" that were on the 360.
The reliability rate is as other users have mentioned much better then the 360's. Not to mention the firmware that will allow for PS2 backwards compatibility. Sure Sony has already denied it but they denied the PS3 Slim as well.

I just worry that Sony might decide to just offer PS2 games through the PSN store. I mean they keep saying they're losing money so it would make good business sense to offer just downloads as a way to claw back some money.I wouldn't be surprised if they do both. I know that eventually they will offer games through the PSN store. There is no real reason not to use the 'Playstation Store' to distribute PS2 games. The PS3 can play PS1 games and they offer PS1 games for purchase on the store. If they can emulate the Emoition Engine through the Cell processor they will definitely be adding PS2 titles to PSN.
Progress is rather slow with PSN etc but do we really have any right to complain? I mean it is a free service. Live has the better online experience because you have to pay for it. If it wasn't better then the free service then there would be real need for concern on Microsoft's side. I never used my Live account when I had a 360 but are you even able to purchase things on Live if you don't pay for the online game play feature?

Just want to throw this out there in case anyone is planning on buying this with the aim to play PS2 titles:http://www.kotaku.com.au/2009/08/sony-explain-why-the-ps3-slim-has-no-backwards-compatibility/
The PS2 compatibility will be in a firmware update through software emulation. Also Sony will completely deny any intent to do so through a firmware update but they also denied the existence of the PS3 slim. Of course there is no way of knowing for sure till Sony themselves makes a statement of it actually happening. I both see it happening and want it to happen.
Well Utawarerumono is a linear story so of course there wouldn't be any choices. The story didn't need anyone to make a change to it cause it was epic without them. I for one prefer it greatly cause there are no bad ends or a reason to replay. Also did you just complain about getting to sleep with every girl? That's your opinion and you're entitled to it but you're the first person I have ever seen complain about that. Seriously dude. Wtf?

Played it. Didn't make my top 5, sorry. Then you have no soul! Either that or you are like all the other people who have their own opinions about video games and didn't care for the character personas and the plot. Either way.
It's still one of the greatest VNs ever. Not everybody likes what other people like tho. If that was the case then this world would be boring and opinionated.
