Basically, torrents are a two-way thing. You don't just download them, you partially upload them back to the tracker as well. Once the torrent's done downloading, it'll then start seeding (the uploading I mentioned) if you don't pause it. That's good, because the more seeders a torrent has (the more people constantly uploading it), the more... "alive" the torrent is, I guess you can say. Of course, if you just download and not seed (by stopping or pausing the torrent), you'll be counted as a leecher. That's bad. You don't ever want a lot of leechers on a torrent, and you certainly will NOT want more leechers than seeders. If that happens, your high speed internet won't do jack shit; you can consider that torrent "dead", unless someone, somewhere, decides to revive it, though it's hard to do so alone.

Now, BakaBT has a special rule. To make sure all torrents stay alive and healthy, they make sure everyone has an account so that they can keep track of how much everyone downloads and uploads. Everyone there has a ratio of amount uploaded to amount downloaded. If you're new, it'll be excused for a bit, but if you download too much from the site without seeding back enough (basically, if your ratio falls below 0.100 for too long), you get "warned". If that happens, you can no longer download from there anymore. I'm not sure if there's a way to get your download privileges back, so it's best not to download too much, and always seed what you take.

There are ways to cheat the system, but I don't really know all that. I hope this was all simple enough to understand, Jack.

BakaBT's got it all, but you need an account to normally access those torrents, and to keep using the torrents there, you need to constantly seed them too, otherwise you lose downloading privileges.
