As for the iPad problem, try clicking on the cover images itself instead of the Read Online button and see if that changes anything. It might be how the site probably works on a pad.

There's settings in the options to speed it up.

but then you miss the dialogue too lol !! XD

There's also options (at least in the few I've played) that make sure it doesn't go to the next line until the voice clip stops playing. As far as I know, auto speed basically determines the delay between lines.

Maybe it's just something I've adapted to, though. Who knows?
