I do think that, despite her black-and-white views, which can be traced back to her losing her best friend to Rikako, Mika at least thinks more rationally than Akane. She may be ignorant of t
he true nature of the Sybil System, but isn't (almost) everyone else the same?

I find it more realistic to uphold the rules established by the System than try to undermine them in pursuit of a more positive yet less probable outcome - which is what Akane seems to be doing. Her duty demanded she cap the mad bomber, yet she managed to make him recover enough to resort to non-lethal force. Does she plan to do so to every other criminal she meets from now on?

Really? That actually made her seem more prone to lose it. Hell, her saying Akane is wrong seemed like she was getting a little too into the rules she wants to enforce, whereas Akane stayed level-headed throughout the episode. Not to mention, Akane doesn't seem that saviour-y. I believe the only reason she tried to calm Bomberman down was because he was still really close to the threshold between arrest and execution mode. Had it been too much higher without any sign of relenting, she probably wouldn't have hesitaated.

I already know she'll be bashed by the fandom, but I approve of Mika's law-above-goodness mentality, which is a nice contrast to Akane's optimism and belief in humanity's goodness (which isn't bad per se, but I personally can't stand it).

Honestly though, Mika's attitude does to me what Akane's does to you, especially after realizing that the kid's just as naive as everyone else is about what the "law" in that society really is. I'm just personally not a fan of the lawful alignment in anything, but I'm still hoping Mika realizes the truth one day (not hopeful though since it's apparently been a year and a half since she joined at the epilogue of season 1).


I can agree with you on your second point so far. It's only just the first episode, but compared to old man Masaoka, and even Kagari, Hinakawa and Togane seem unimpressive so far. Glad (that was sarcastic) to see that Yayoi's still living up to her useless ass lesbian archetype though.

Of course, more so than the last bit of the episode, I was more intrigued by the opening video. It wasn't just radically different in style from season 1's openings, it felt extremely spoilerrific as well. So much stuff seemed to be implied from that, I just don't know where to start.


Overall, I thought it was solid episode. Tatsunoko managed to capture the general animation feel right, though they seem to lack the finer details Production IG used to have. OP was even more amazing to hear properly, ED theme... could have been better, I just liked that beginning part (plus it's hard to live up to Nameless Monster, let's face it). I'm curious to see how it goes, but so far, none of my doubts about the show have really been quelled yet.

The sequel to the surprise hit of last year returns. This is Gundam Build Fighters Try!


Synopsis:

Seven years have passed since Sei Iori won the 7th Gunpla Battle Championship World Tournament. The Gunpla Battle Championship is now run by Yajima Trading. With new rules and new battle modes, the game's popularity has become even more widespread.

However, the Seiho Academy that Sei Iori once attended has failed to catch onto the trend. The only member of the school's Gunpla Battle Club is its president, middle schooler Fumina Hoshino. Currently there is no way the club can participate in the middle and high-school division of the upcoming All-Japan Gunpla Battle Championship, where players fight in teams of three.

Then Fumina meets a new transfer student. He is Sekai Kamiki, a young martial artist who has been traveling with his master. Together with a young Gunpla builder named Yuuma Kousaka, they finally have three members for their team.


Almost the same staff as before, so if you enjoyed the last season, you should definitely be in for this ride too.

Episode 1

I'll be honest, I had some doubts and fears about this show at first, considering it had to live up to quite some hype from the last season, which still remains my favourite of last year. However, the minute this episode ended, all of those thoughts disappeared. This is the same Gundam Build Fighters fans came to know and love from before, and it's back in full force. Especially loved all the little nods to G Gundam here and there, thanks to new protagonist Sekai.

Oh, and as always, solid theme by Back-ON. Can't wait to hear it properly next year.

That last bit is probably the best advice I've gotten so far, and I also thought of that.

She approached about keeping it secret, and since I obviously don't want to be on my brother's shit list for any extended amount of time, especially since he would probably kill me in the literal sense, I agreed completely, and decided that whenever she had 'incidents' like this in the future, I would lead her to their room and leave her in her bed, and then leave the house, regardless of what funny business might occur.

No more sex with her, this is going to be a one time mistake.

Living a clean, honest life never suited me anyway, so honesty about one thing will lead to honesty about other things I don't want people to know about. She agreed that this would not happen again, and I agreed to keep it a secret from my brother by any means necessary.

Hopefully, I can put this behind me for years to come and live happily ever after.

Do you realize that you're just digging your hole even deeper now? You aren't going to live "happily ever after" anymore, you fucked up, so you're gonna pay the price eventually. On another note though, Kapp'n's Song in the game got an amazing remix (should be called SKA-pp'n's Song these days.
