Pokemon. Most famous offender I can think of. Shit just started going from decent to "let's shove in all the typical anime cliches and comedy faces we can think of".

I'm gonna be kinda frank with you. Most of the users who only come here for the porn are too dumb or ignorant to really come into the forums (see the Feedback section for the biggest example of that). And even then, among the small but loyal community that does stick in the forums, a very, VERY small fraction of them frequent the writing section.

But what they lack in quantity, they make up for in quality. From my brief experience in that section, these guys love to read and write, and they'll actually care less about what a story is about and more about if the story is good or not.

So if you want my opinion, I say write what you really want to. Craft a story that you want spoken out to the crowd, and the right people will properly criticize and appreciate it. Don't just cater to masses; cater to yourself first.

See, what I think is that your issue lies less with yuri itself and more with how it got exposed to you. You saw it first as a malicious act done that was uncalled for and was probably done to cater to the hormonal masses. What you need to understand is that this is not any relationship works, at all. I didn't get a disdain for the acts in general myself, but even I thought the scenes you mentioned were cringeworthy as fuck.

Hence, read Sunstone. This is a down to earth, absolutely real and human story that just happens to be laced with BDSM. Really though, the series is never even explicit in its acts, but it's hardly sfw. The best way to quash homophobia is to see and understand that real love has no boundaries, and sex is certainly one of those assumed limits. You start falling for whoever you fall for, that's how this stupid feeling works lol.

Like mentioned above, don't count on it. Type-Moon knows where their priorities lie. That is both a good and a bad thing.
