Hmm, I think the auto +rep thing would encourage people to upload crappy stuff or spam the board with single uploads instead of just putting multiple in one post or topic.
I don't think it would be too complicated, just a drop down menu with 1 to -1 listed in .1 increments. At least it wouldn't be complicated for the people using it. As for Jacob to make it, I have no idea what kind of work that would require, maybe a lot maybe not (I know nothing about the process of making sites).

I dunno if this is a good idea or too complicated. I think it might be neat if you could give partial rep(like in 0.1 increments). People would still have a daily limit of 1 rep point worth of change to give or take, but could divide it among different people or give/take a smaller amount of rep for smaller things. Because it is still out of a total 1 point per day, the value of rep wouldn't change.
For example, say person A(who has 3 rep) does something kinda nice and B(who has 3 rep) does something kinda mean. C could +.5 to A giving him 3.5 total and -.5 to B for a total of 2.5. Between the two, C has spent all his rep giving/taking ability for the day.
I figure it might also be cool if different ranks could give/take a higher total per day. Maybe at the minimum post requirement they can give/take 1 (or maybe .5 or something) per day. Each rank up they can give/take slightly more per day, like .1 added to their daily give/take capacity.
This whole system would require the +/- buttons being replaced with something like a drop down menu or box to type it in.

This isn't directly related but just kinda something on the topic in general. I guess there isn't much point in complaining about the actual loss of rep, it is after all just a number representing the number of times youve made people happy or unhappy with you. If people didn't give out -rep then the number wouldnt have much purpose.

Wow, so you must have at least 2 people really unhappy with you(unless you've gotten on the bad side of an admin, then -2 could be one person). I'm a bit surprised seeing as how you just one the update contest.
Indeed, what was a stereotype for "non-civilized" non-romans has turned into a whole different thing. It cracks me up playing something like the diablo 2 expansion where they are just some race of conan the barbarian(theres another one) type people running around.
I agree that all the submissions were pretty good, everyone that participated deserves credit for it. That being said, from what I saw, your update was really good Minsc. And there's nothing wrong with old manga. If it isn't already on fakku, how old it is doesn't really matter (I guess thats what you're seeing with your latest poll, eh?).
I think I remember Jacob posting something a couple weeks ago about having some trouble with paypal since fakku is an adult site. Maybe that is an issue. Dunno, I could be wrong.
I haven't had the problem but I can see that. It seems a lot of people get on here late at night when they are likely to be tired and clumsy. I like how the buttons look right now, very clean, but I guess it wouldn't be bad to have them colored or spaced.

It doesn't matter to me. I prefer stuff I haven't read, but it's not like it matters when it was made.
