Western porn comics are hit or miss, it really depends on the author and/or the work itself. Some of them are drawn in the same style as western comics books, some in a similar style to manga, and some in completely different styles so depending on the author's style and subject matter and on your taste it could be really good or really bad.

For anyone who bought the 2nd edition of Cute Devil Girlfriend, are the print specs close to Fakku print specs? A5, white paper stock, etc. While this has nothing to do with the topic I am going to respond to your inquiry.
The 2nd edition of Hisasi's Cute Devil Girlfriend looks like every other one of Project H's pre-2016 releases, except that it has color pages at the beginning of the book. That being said, Project H has yet to publish anything with the same quality as Fakku's releases.

I'm actually not that huge of a hentai connoisseur, but the publication of NaPaTa books here on Fakku got me interested in throwing money at a physical version of something that I usually just download from the internet. I fondly remembered his one-shot House Sitting for some reason or another and appreciate his art style in general. I also picked up both of the Kisaragi Gunma books because I enjoy porn with a plot and reoccurring characters.
I prefer my artwork to be anatomically correct and especially hate it when gigantic breasts and penises come into play. Artists who can draw feet well are always appreciated, but I find most foot worship and smell related stuff to be really cringey and bad. I also like how hentai can be used to play with generally taboo topics and enjoy lolicon manga, stories involving incest and exhibitionism and creative ero-guro by folks like Shintaro Kago and Horihone Saizou.
I am not familiar with a ton of artists really, but tend to just read whatever I stumble across that seems relevant to my interests. Getting too involved in any artist ends up being frustrating for me because I find myself wishing that their entire body of work would be readily available, preferably translated into somewhat decent English. A trip to doujinshi.org always leaves me feeling depressed after an hour of two of fruitless google-fu.
What vis kei did you like? Dir en Grey and MUCC were kinda cool, but I never really got into the metal inspired vis kei. Some of the electronic stuff was fun though. I liked Urbangarde and Aural Vampire. Also cali≠gari, since they rocked that ero-guro theme and imagery quite nicely. Anti Feminism also deserves a mention since they did hardcore punk.
I also like Kisaragi Gunma. Great artist and author. If you like hentai with plot then a couple more artists to check out would be Cuvie (Fakku published one of her books) and Karma Tatsurou (several works available via Fakku subscription service).
In regards to visual kei, I really got into Kagrra. They became my favorite band for a long time and I still really enjoy their blend of rock music and traditional Japanese instruments. Another artist I liked was Ayabie/Ayabieru, which is hard to define their style because it changes so much from one song to the next.
Welcome to the forums.
I found it kind of odd that you rambled on quite a while on your tastes in music, games, and other things, but didn't mention anything about hentai.
Anyways, you seemed to really be into music. I'm not really familiar with the noise genre, could you describe it for me. I personally got into a few visual-kei bands and some Japanese pop groups and am interested in how different the noise genre is.

I'm also hoping that some will be available online after the con. It just isn't possible for a large portion of this community to get to AX, especially when both Fakku and Project H announce their events and con exclusive merch so close to the date of the con.
At the very least a digital release would be nice.

Congratulations on the promotion(not sure if it is a promotion or just a change in department).
Glad to hear that you are feeling better. Depression and anxiety can be tough to deal with, so I am glad you were able to overcome it.
I agree, Jojo is great. I may start actively watching it in a few months, I'm dealing with moving and the busy summer season for Magic the Gathering.

There isn't really a point to having an account if you aren't subscribing or purchasing books. All you can really do at that point is post in the forums. That being said, the community has dwindled and become a lot less active since scanlations were taken down. It would be great if more people would post in the forums and rejuvenate the community.

These are the only legit sources of hentai in the west, not counting amazon and so for importing stuff from Japan.
That's not quite right. While Fakku and ProjectH are the biggest sources in the West and they make up for the vast majority of the market, they are not the only sources available. r18.com also sells digital downloads of hentai manga and anime, although most of their selection is untranslated.
Fakku is easily the best source for quality. However Project H has a different selection of content and I haven't had a real issue with their physical products. I haven't had any problems with videos downloaded from R18, but I haven't tried their manga downloads yet.
I still have most of my old video game consoles, NES and later. I still have a modest collection of games to go with all of these systems too. However, I have recently considered getting rid of some of them because they take up space and I really only use a small portion of them. It's hard to get rid of them, but I know I will have more space once I get rid of the "tower of power". I haven't used those particular systems in years.
I typically prefer physical copies of media of all types. I like having the physical product in my hands; there is just something gratifying about having a physical copy that I can't really explain. Some items it is also about bragging rights.
I don't currently have access to streaming other than Youtube. As a result I watch a lot more DVDs than I otherwise would and that has led to me getting DVDs when I otherwise wouldn't.
With games, I go physical if I can. Sometimes the digital version is significantly cheaper or I get it free with a promotion and I get it that way. Also, sometimes games I want to play are available digital only, so I have no other choice.
With hentai manga I prefer physical, but limited space has me considering going digital for some of Fakku's releases. Also, the subscription service is just too good of a deal to not accept that it is digital "streaming" only.
I am switching over to mostly digital only with porn videos. This is mostly a convenience thing, but factors of availability and price also come into play this type of media.

I bought some Yamatogawa books, digital. They were around FAKKU! x2400 resolution, which was better than the scanlations, but not by much. Over all, not terrible, but not good when compared to my fakku books. They only let you download one format for some reason and dont split into separate images. Thats a really weird business practice. In short, I am not buying anything else off of them, but I dont regret the books I bought, cuz Yamatogawa kicks so much ass.
I'm glad to hear that the image quality for your files wasn't horrible.
I agree with you that Yamatogawa is amazing. I can't wait for my special edition copies of Vanilla Essence and Aqua Bless to ship.

I only have one digital file by them and I picked pdf. According to Project H there is supposed to be a watermark somewhere, but I haven't seen it yet. However, I stopped reading after about 15 or 20 pages because of the horrible quality. How does the resolution compare to Fakku, would you say? Is it comparable to x2600 at least? I messaged their support about these things like 2 days ago and they have yet to respond to me... Terrible customer service. This is the reason they are struggling while FAKKU is doing so well. Treat your customers like pirates and show you dont care about them, they will stop buying and go elsewhere.
The resolution of the file is terrible. I have often seen scanlations of other works that have higher resolution images. Fakku makes sure to keep their products at the top of quality, so Project H's digital release is much worse in quality.
I agree, it seems that Fakku is doing better than Project H, but I don't think it is just the way they treat their customers. Project H seems to struggle to put out a new book each month even though they have been doing this for years. Also, they don't release the content customers want or they don't release them the way the customers want (uncensored every time, not all titles get released physically). These are other reasons they seem to be struggling. Fakku took some time to get to the point they are at now, but they also started from nothing. Project H has been at this for years (and had no competition when they started), and they are an imprint of a larger company that publishes other genres of manga.
Personally, I'm going to keep buying Project H titles that interest me, though it will be physical only. The way I see it, their products are not as high quality as Fakku's and they aren't always uncensored, but here isn't any other way to legally get the content.
I'm not liking the way any of the new starters look. I think I will go with the grass one because it is the one that looks the least dumb to me. Those legendaries look amazing though. I'm gonna have to trade to get both of them.
I hope that the story and characters are better than X/Y. I hated everything about the story and characters for those games.

Some manga artists I like (in no particular order):
Tatsunami Youtoku (artist of "Twin Milf") - I just like the way this artist draws women.
Bosshi (artist of "Peachy Butt Girls", honestly surprised nobody listed this artist yet) - If you like really good looking asses then Bosshi is the artist you want.
Yamatogawa (artist of "Vanilla Essence") - I can't quite put my finger on what I like about Yamatogawa's art, but it does have a slightly unique look to it.
LINDA - LINDA's artwork looks like no other; the color pages are amazing.
Cuvie (artist of "Alluring Woman") - Cuvie's style is more subtle and refined in the way it is handled and that is what I like about it.
I've been reading hentai manga for a while now and some of these artists were my favorites before I even got to the point that I would call myself a fan of hentai manga.
Likhos01 mentioned a few artists I would also recommend:
Oh Great! is a really good manga artist. I also can't quite explain what it is that I like about his style. His hentai manga are older and out of print though and may be difficult/expensive to get a hold of.
Nozomu Tamaki has a distinctive art style that looks great (especially in color). This artist is best known for his mainstream work "Dance in the Vampire Bund" which looks great. The couple of hentai works I've read by him also looked great, but you will likely have to get scanlations of these works.
Saigado has some really good looking works, especially the color ones. Saigado's works are not terribly distinctive looking to me, but are still well drawn. I personally avoid this artist's work because I can't get into the stories.

Jacob, I appreciate the transparency about the subscription code issue and new codes sound like a great improvement.
I wish I could go to Anime Expo, but I just can't afford to go since I live on the other side of the country. Could you please post the information and/or videos from AX right after the convention ends? It was a pain trying to get the information from last year's con if you couldn't go yourself.

Does Project-H have good print quality? I've never bought from them before.I've read a handful of their physical books and I would say that they are decent quality. I would put their print quality to be around what you would expect from a mainstream manga release. So Project H's print quality isn't bad, but high quality isn't the first thing that comes to your mind. Do note that some of their older titles have black and white versions of what were originally color pages in the Japanese editions.
Recently Project H has said that they are improving their quality. Unfortunately I haven't opened my physical copy of "Strange Sex in Parallel Worlds" yet (I just got it a couple of days ago), so I can't tell you if it has improved. I will update you on that once I open it.
