Personally I don't care much for subscriptions to porn sites, not because of the "you can get it for free" argument, but more of the "it's like taxes" argument. You pay taxes, most of the time its the same amount each year. The taxes are to go towards government services. Some services you don't agree with, and you have no control over where your money goes. Same with subscriptions. You pay 13 bucks a month, but if you don't care much for a certain genre then a month filled with that genre is a wasted month to you.
The books are a great idea as it gives the consumer control over what he wants to purchase. I would love to see more books and will buy more that catch my fancy, but I'm not ready to make commitments to anyone. I'm not against the site wanting to become legitimate and I support it's root cause for doing so. I'm just not fond of the structure it wants to use, but that's just me. If people enjoy it then power to them and blessings on the providers.
You never know what you'll end up liking.

Perhaps (risking severe ire) a higher subscription price for this privilege? Certainly something I wouldn't mind.
Also, I feel like once downloads are available, someone will just upload all the chapters on a piracy site so idk if paying for that privilege would even be worth it.

I saw FLCL in my late formative years and while I may not have fully understood the underlying message of it, the wackiness and off-and-on perversion stuck in my brain and is probably what helped get me into anime (and keep me being an immature, perverted kid).

This will constantly update as new chapters are added to the website, when the service goes public later today it should have 20-30 new chapters added.
Is this still a WIP or should we be able to access that page from the books tab? I only ask because when you go to the "chapters" page, it says "books -> magazine chapters" but if you go to the "books" page, I don't see a way to access the "magazine chapters" page. It's kind of like you need to know the URL to get in.

I'm sure Jake would refund you. Besides, the Valentine's Sale was a huge success as far as I could tell since Jake said over 2,000 books were sold in a couple days. I'll admit it's a little different here since it's members only, but I think strategic placement of sales, such as when a new, popular book is about to release, could be very beneficial.
Or just have a consistent seasonal sale around holidays or the summer. That way there's no surprise when a sale would occur.
That too, like the Steam sales. But I feel like that should be open to all users and not just Gold members.

This is a fair concern. I could see a salty past user potentially hacking the site to get back at Jacob for "betraying everyone". I think the worst has passed in terms of people bitching, but you never know. I had actually hoped Paypal was going to be an option as well.

I encountered a strange error when using the reader. Using iOS mobile, Chrome. After Chrome crashed using the reader, I restored it, hit back, then went to read Meanwhile, Onee-chan was... again and then it was messed up like that. I just went back to the homepage and it was all fixed, but yeah. I also haven't been able to recreate it.
