I'm pretty sure its the sugar. The bacteria in your mouth eat sugar and turn it into an acid, which then destroys the enamel on your teeth. Caffeine might be bad for you for other reasons, but I don't think does anything specifically to your teeth.

only way to prevent the fucking bacteria to use that sugar is to brush teeth before you eat (to reduce the number of bacteria with a decent toothpaste) or after that (to remove the sugar and the bacteria)
