Temcor: all three are on a good track and are interesting.
MRG: Pull out an anatomy book. even if its not the same style it'll help.
Ok. So I've set up a request line on my website and Raze was the only tester who submitted a request. Rin Tohkasa. Here is a color drawing with a simple background.

@ Matatabi.. welcome
@tkhnoman.. ouch... dont worry about the size, it may change as i'm dealing with printers. that size was the template we were aiming for, which is robot. You do great work and it would be wonderful to have you to help push others(like myself) along by critiquing and competing.
@crimson.. i have a few printes in mind, the dates may change depending on the printers needs to have the books available for shipping during the first week of december.
@Preze 8 x 11 3/4 at 300 dpi. I might have had mine set to 400 dpi since i like to size down for print quality
If you have any questions you can add me to your aim: femmesketchbook, pm me.
One piece of advice is start early. If you have ideas get them down and spend an hour everyday. Zip or rar your files and post them for crits and suggestions. Beyond each of you competing we are here to help each other out and make this the best that you can do.

@MRG you got a lot of enthusiasm but i'm going to expect a lot more from you. I think you can do better. For your submissions spend more time on them. Now i have this problem that i get bored of an image and move on.. a friend once explained it to me that its not boredom but rather fear and uncertainty of what to do next to improve my skills.
I have held back releasing this weeks tutorial because i'm going to focus on doing tutorials aimed at helping people push their work/skills as to get into the art compilation book.
This is not to say that i am a great artist any you must bow down...i have the knowledge but i lack the patience to practice...(i will practice) and hopefully i can share what i know with the rest of you.
One of my goals in pushing for the artbook, and to publish is for our artists in the community to push ourselves to go beyond our expectations and produce something of a professional quality. Its daunting, its scary, but we have time and if we apply ourselves a little each day we can do this.
for those that are interested i will be sending out the tutorials through the newsletter list at www.femmesketchbook.com
@Nagato Join us the more the merrier.

you get give or take 16 pages. depending on the success of the artbook we may put out another so on and so forth as long as we have artist/writers submitting material and people who want it, there by continuing the story you have set up.
Here are the answers as they stand. But nothing will be final until i post the faq.
3. What can’t I submit?
Pornography. Huh, but Fakku is an H-Site? We know. We don’t mind adult stories, language, violence and nudity, just refrain from being explicit.
what are the deadlines?
- April 30 2009: Critique Deadline
- May 22 2009: Preliminary Deadline
- July 21 2009: Production/Final Selection Deadline
17. Does the illustration have to be gender specific, can it be any, as long as it’s an OC?
Bingo.
18. The pixel size, is it 3200w x 4700h or the other way around?
Portrait. But if you have a good reason to make it landscape don’t let us stop you.
19. Is ecchi/perverted illustration/manga allowed?
We like to think of it in terms of an R movie rating. Just be careful not to cross over into X.
20. How many page limit for manga and illustration per artist?
At this time its open.( give me a couple more days to think it over.)
21. Is 4 koma style manga acceptable?
Yes. Let’s see what you can do with it.

Alright we got a sticky.
If you manga artist need help getting ideas for your story i;ve started a topic in our fakku writing section
https://www.fakku.net/viewtopic.php?p=315028#315028
so that you can start collaborating with other fakku members to help share creative art duties.
@ crimson: Yes we are looking for ORIGIANL manga only.
@ MRG: welcome.
You can submit manga, illustration or both. One doesnt exclude the other.
@ Palmas: Robot is a great book, and I'm glad its around to inspire and guide our project. since its so readily available people can more easily picture the project.
@ crimson: you can select any genre for you manga/illustration..but i'll have more guidelines up when i post the FAQ (i'm aiming to have it done by thursday March 12)
@ Nikon: Thanks for the support.
@ Temcor: ..make time.. If drawing is what you like don't miss this opportunity to have your work published. If it becomes a hit you'll have much harder competition next time around.

Over in the art section we've started a new project for the year. We would love to include everybody on the site, regardless of what creative talents they have.
As a courtesy i'm going to link artist looking for writers back to this topic. If you want to be more proactive, join us in the art forum and solicit an artist if you have a good idea for an original manga.
Wishing you the best of luck.

Taro-sama and I will be spearheading this years art project.
We will be putting together an artbook similar to that of robot series or apple.
apple link at amazon
robot link at amazon
:Here are the ground rules:
All submissions must be ORIGINAL material. (yeah that's a big one)
We will include both a short manga section with illustration divisions:
You can submit to either section:manga or illustrations
We will accept black and white line art(bleach, naruto, appleseed) and full color(udons street fighter work) the quotes are examples guidelines.
Unless its something exceptional we will only be accepting digital submissions.(simply because we dont have time to scan and photograph submissions) Tentative page size is 8 inches x 11 3/4 inches or
3200 pixels by 4700 pixels
The published deadline is Dec 2009. Meaning I will work up a submission to print deadline in the next week as i map out the project.
Please submit any other ideas you may have for the artbook so that we may consider them and decide if they may be included.

2. What can I submit?
We are accepting ORIGINAL material. You can submit short manga or illustrations. The work can be black/white or full color. We are planning on printing this artbook so your final submission must be print quality.(minimum 300 DPI @ 2100 pixels by 2100 pixels for full page spreads).
