Eyes off the Date, or I'll mush you to a pulp in BB.No games would be fun with the ending was never in question. With that being said, stay away from my #2, you avatar stealer.

If you had the opportunity to go to any one location in Gensokyo for sightseeing (without taking the characters into consideration), where would you go?Garden of the Sun, nothing can compare. There is nothing better than witnessing a natural beauty as if if it were within your grasp.
Alternatively, I would strike for Hakurei Shrine. According to my network from the netherworld, the cherry trees' beauty there are mesmerizing and otherwordly.

You know you want them dances.
You're not thinking about Date, right? Because if you are, then let's have a muddy fight in HM to settle our differences because of you setting your eyes on my #2 favorite girl.

Nevermind, just realized it.Then we're even. You got only one of mine right when guessing, and I got only one of yours right when guessing.
But I already gave you the source like, 2 days ago. How come you only realize it by now.
No way '1 out of 3' and '1 out of 5' are even. Just keep in mind that I hardly understand nipponese and I solely determine the character's worth by only looks, expressions, and usefulness in combats.
Yes, I am awful.

Hoshimiya Kate is human.I'm not giving Napoleon the #2 label. I'm saying she has a similar body type with my #2.
Here's what I think your top 5 are:
1 - Napoleon
2 - Columbus
3 - Siegfried
4 - Abe no Seimei
5 - Jiang Ziya
She still doesn't look like one.
You must be talking about the Maid of Orleans.
Your score is 10 out of 100, dear apprentice. Spoiler alert: none of the legendary 5, namely Achilles, Hercules, Siegfried, Cu Chulainn, Jiang Ziya, is in my best 5 favorites. If there was a gun being shoved down my throat just so I could pick one, I would go for Cu Chulainn in a heartbeat. But yeah.

I can't speak to pre-MoF games. Aside from IN-extra, I've never played those with sound on.Drop that habit right now and start listening to themes to enrich your knowledge and expand your vision. It isn't going to kill you if you have your focus bolted shut; not like a certain someone who lost 5 lives within seconds in Septette for the Dead Princess.

The first creature in your list doesn't even look remotely human.
Why you like Napoleon why you set your eyes on my favorite girl why you keep giving her #2 label why why why. Can you list my 5 favorite girls in Eiyuu Senki?
Zandorf wrote...
You got one right. Huayna Capac is my #4. My #3 is Beethoven. And my #2... well, it'll remain a secret. :3But Beethoven looks human. That's not in the deal.
How about Abe no Seimei? Ohh, who am I kidding aye - you don't even know no bewbs.

Byakuren's doesn't fit. It supposed to be dramatic and invigorating but that isn't how it goes. From where did you get this impression? It appears to me that Cosmic Mind already has enough dramatic and invigorating riffs enough for a lifetime, assuming we're talking about the same 'dramatic' and 'invigorating' of course. It sounds more like a theme for traditional messiah, if you get what I mean.
In my opinion, Cosmic Mind is hardly a stage-tier theme as it lacks the intensity and the ever-welcoming tune befitting what kind of difficult fight will unfold like the Young Descendant of Tepes, Ultimate Truth, Voyage 1969 (yes), and etc. In that department, Fires of Hokkai is just right on the spot.
Zandorf wrote...
Dare you to guess my #2, #3, and #4.You also didn't tell me where you get those pictures... Are they from in game during those non-h scenes?
Don't think I have to open my drawer to guess who is your #4, different case if we're talking about your #5.
If my infinite-to-infinite wisdom fools me not, I can pretty much assume that your favorites are those who don't look remotely human. Let's go with Alexander, Teach, and Huayna Capac.
But I already gave you Eiyuu*Senki Gold OP.
brok3n butterfly wrote...
Probably because there are so many charactersThis sounds off because Touhou has more than 2x Eiyuu*Senki characters total. It's also not too difficult to remember who is who because most of them are based from real historical figures. Even someone with below-average score in history during middle -> high school, yes me, can memorize all of them in a jiffy.

Cosmic mind doesn't have the right feel and nor does that remix.I personally believe Fires of Hokkai is a theme used to describe the arrival of long-awaited messiah, which is perfect in that sense due to the sheer intensity and the fact that all the opposing fairies throughout the stage moved as if they were restricted to a specific formation. Cosmic Mind, on the other hand, might be a bit too gentle for boss-theme, especially as a follow up to Fires of Hokkai. However, let's not rule out that Cosmic Mind is Byakuren's theme, a gentle admirable monk with unpleasant background.
Just like how Fires of Hokkai complemented the messiah element, Cosmic Mind also did well to emphasize who the final boss was. It doesn't necessarily always have to be intense.
You owe me 2 cents for this.
Zandorf wrote...
Oh, your right. My bad. You wear them before giving them to Byakuren, and when she gives them back to you to wash them, you sniff the hell out of them and wear them for a day before washing. Then you repeat the cycle. Har har.
Please don't sully my immaculately clean name with such vulgar remarks. Everyone here knows that I am the pure innocent saint who holds everything together with sugar-sweet rules and all-people-are-equal way of talking. Byakuren is that kind of person who I would love to talk with, while being accompanied by a cup of green tea and sugar-free biscuits, about topics that revolve around the youth nowadays and world peace.
That's just how good Byakuren is.

What you did is nearly similar to what I did in my success runs. Perhaps, the only thing bordering our results is only that of life points before stage 6. Godspeed. Try to not get hooked on Fires of Hokkai though; it's not because of no reason that I put stage 6 UFO as my all-time favorite stages, despite of its bland patterned enemies that is.

The worst feeling is getting to Flying Fantastica for the 1st time and losing.Still much better than having 4 of your 7 remaining lives eviscerated by Devil's Recitation alone. During my 1st trip ever to the last stage of UFO, I think I didn't even manage to sniff at Flying Fantastica since Byakuren's Superhuman card ended my trip. Is BiBi going to 1cc UFO today? We celebrate.

And besides, do you really think that Reimu would really want to talk about fighting with Rumia and Meiling? She's lazy enough as it is anyways, and just wanted to get to the end of the story. You have to imagine, that a good majority of this is based off of fandom, rather than cannon.
I have yet to even beat Eiyuu*Senki. I didn't even know they were planning a sequel.
If that's the case, I'd rather her skip everything that's not about Remilia. If we were using 'too lazy to put more details' as the excuse, it would make more sense to not talk about Flandre's (sub)plot and move to the scarlet mist incident without any unnecessary jibber-jabber. I am fully aware this is a fanwork; still, I kinda expected something a little more thoughtful, considering their first Fantasy Kaleidoscope was mediocre at best.
Why haven't you finished Eiyuu Senki. It's been half a century since you first played it.

Yeah, the only side effect of youtube... I only watch it there though... There isn't enough Flan-chan kicking arse to be worthy of downloading. You mean, the show could benefit from less Flandre and more proper fighting scenes, plus actual character introductions. It's just so unfair and inexcusable on how they treat Rumia and Meiling. Not to count how weird it is for Reimu to say "your ability is nothing unusual" to Sakuya, while we can clearly see that even Akyuu was impressed with Sakuya's unique unteachable time control ability in PMiSS.
Have you graced yourself with Eiyuu Senki Gold OP? Get yourself a fine darjeeling tea.

It's worth noting that Koishi closed her third eye on her own volition, and was not a by product of a situation as experienced by the Fridas - Appearance wise, a damaged heart also makes a poor substitute; Closing one's eye is a form of escape, much like shutting a gate to close out the things outside.Another thing worth noting is that the Frida who got her own artery cut represents the pain of having to endure the loss of her husband, is on similar case with Koishi who tried to change her situation, to the better, by closing her third eye; it's both about hurting yourself in hope that it will lead you to a better conclusion.

While on the topic of the Komeiji sisters, why not relate to the whole ensemble of their time instead? This old article here would suggest a likely relation between the seven sins and the cast of Touhou 11.0 - Subterranean Animism.Grave-digger.

To catch your attention, take your time to admire Koishi:

Attention garnered, now for a topic we might able to expand; it's a common knowledge that ZUN usually got his inspirations from relatively well-known folklore, some trivia from his favorite literature and writers, super/natural occurrences, and etc. Some examples from what I know:

Surely, there must be more than just this. Does anybody have inputs? Or perhaps those already mentioned still have room to be expanded? Be nice and share your wisdom to fellow peers, mentlegen. Take it slowly though, we cannot afford to deal with piled up inputs and accidentally overlook some.

- Touhou 9.0 - Phantasmagoria of Flower View used the concept of chinese's cycle of sixty terms used to record days or years, Sexagenary Cycle. It's further emphasized by Shikieiki's theme, Fate of Sixty Years.
- Toyosatomimi no Miko, Mononobe no Futo, and Toga Sojiko, are based on real people; Prince Shoutoku, Mononobe no Futsuhime, and Tojiko no Iratsume, respectively.
- Touhou 8.0 - Imperishable Night is based from The Tale of The Bamboo Cutter.
