Magazines in Japan are printed on very low quality paper, which is why they can get away with selling something with twice the page count for 40-80% of the prize of a regular book. They're meant to be easily used and then disposed of. We don't really have this option since our printing situation is very different than in Japan. Our books match some of the highest quality prints in Japan, so keeping it the same would likely balloon the cost of a single magazine to ~$50.

A lot of changes would need to be made in order to make physical magazines financially viable (for us and our customers), so that's one of the biggest hurdles. I would like to look into the possibility of creating a best of 2017 compilation sometime next year, which I think would be the most likely first step. That said, it's far too early to make any promises, and with all the other projects we have in plan for physical releases in 2018, it might not come to fruition.

If you submit a support ticket, someone will help you with this issue. Note that it's currently 3:20 AM local time and the support isn't open during weekends, so it will most likely take a few hours until someone is around to assist.

Glad to hear it worked out in the end! Unfortunately different countries and banks handle these things differently, and there's no one solution that will work across the entire globe. We can only offer suggestions that might work in your case, but it's good to hear that you managed to finally solve it. Hope you enjoy the content!

I didn't bring up piracy because it's never really a factor in any of the decisions we make, and this is no exception. Downloads aren't feasible because of the business model, not because we want to prevent piracy. A lot of businesses adopt the all-access, subscription based model nowadays, so I strongly disagree that we're unique in this. For the same reason you need an active subscription to watch Netflix or play an MMO, you need one to access our library.

To clarify, I'm talking about the option to download everything with just a subscription. It's possible that downloads could be implemented in some other way.

It's not a neglected request. What Daiz wrote 1½ years ago pretty much still stands. It's a subscription service, and as such, you get access to all the content only when you have an active subscription. There are other subscription models that could be explored, but those would likely have to be more limited (such as only giving access to the current month's issues) and more expensive (pricing it closer in line with actually buying the magazines, which all cost $4-7 each).

I'm not sure what the question was in the first place. More magazines? It's been our stated goal from the very start to keep adding more magazines as time goes on. But since we not only license but also localize these magazines ourselves, we need enough staff to handle whatever new magazine(s) we pick up.

It's also important to keep in mind that the process of picking up a magazine is a very drawn out one when going through the proper channels. We need to work out a deal with the Japanese publisher and potential associates, and then get approval from hundreds of artists before we can even get our hands on the data. It usually takes months for the whole process to go through and we're finally able to release the content.

All I can say for now is that we have established relations with most publishers in Japan, and the ones who are interested in English distribution are keen to work with us. When we have enough resources to handle more magazines, we will add them to the subscription. Although I can't go into any details as to what magazine(s) that might be right now.

We never skip any chapter unless the artist asks us to. As for wasted resources, the only non-h artist we get on a consistent, monthly bases is Hitori, which is just 10 pages. Even with the other series from artists who are published more sporadically (such as Yumeno Tanuki and Ichiharahikari Z), it's still less than one chapter worth of content on average each month, so skipping them wouldn't make much difference.

The same way the names are listed in the original. Typically this means family name followed by given name, unless it's a foreign character. For artist names, it differs depending on how the artist prefers to have it stylized. Most of them follow the Japanese order, but there are exceptions.

If your bank offers some form of online service, I would start by checking that out. Speaking from personal experience, my card limits transactions to "safe purchases" by default, which is something I can temporarily disable by going to their website. Allowing for "unsafe purchases" might sound scary, but what it really means is that the company hasn't signed up to whatever security program my bank uses, so it applies to a lot of foreign companies.

In my case, it has nothing to do with the adult nature of the content; I have to do this both for FAKKU and for Playstation Network purchases. I don't have to do this when buying from some places online, so you might still have to do this even if you use the same card for other services such as Twitch.

Leaving a comment is a very unreliable method, especially if the chapter is more than a few days old. In the past I tried to check all the comments, but we release too much content for that to be feasible anymore. As mentioned, use the contact form and file it under Grammar/Spelling. That way it'll show up on our internal systems, and it usually doesn't take long to fix.

Girls forM (or any back issue) is at the lowest priority. As long as there's content left from current magazines, we typically work on those first. Right now I'm aiming for 1-2 G4M chapters per week, but any chapter should just be seen as a bonus. The goal with all magazines is to finish them before we get the next issue. And when I say finish, I mean internally, so there might be a delay before they're actually released on the site. Europa is just 8-9 chapters with a new issue every two months, so you can expect (on average) about a chapter per week from that as well.

I've been scheduling a lot of Shitsurakuten and BEAST lately in an attempt to actually put them out on the site before we get the next issues next week, so Bavel just happened to get pushed back in the release queue. That said, there's actually a Bavel chapter scheduled for 8 PM tonight. I'll keep this in and mind I'll try to schedule few more coming this weekend.

Finally, we've been working with basically half the regular translator team for magazine these last two weeks. We've adjusted a bit this week, but that's likely another factor as to why newer magazines haven't been released yet. Other than that, it shouldn't impact anything else.

Volume 2 is finally out! Sorry for the huge delay on this series. We're gonna try to make up for it with future releases. The third volume is already close to being done, so the wait shouldn't be nearly as painful this time around (and hopefully it won't be for any of the upcoming chapters).

During a few days last week, we had some issues with the encoder we use for our magazine releases. Certain fonts were not handled correctly, resulting in very crowded bubbles with far larger font sizes than intended, an example of which you can see below:


The issue has since been fixed, but it may still affect a few chapters that were encoded during that period and have yet to be released on the site. It's very easy to correct this as long as it's brought to our attention. If you come across this error in a chapter, please feel free to PM me, submit a ticket ("Report Grammar/Spelling Mistake"), or leave a comment in this post. Make sure you provide an example of the error (i.e., a link to a page).

I don't recommend commenting on the gallery itself, since it may be overlooked (this is true in general for any kind of typo/mistake report).

Unfortunately, I don't have easy access to that sort of data. There's a quick way to get a decent, current estimate for any one tag thought:

Let's use femdom as an example. Go to the tag > check the last page > 28 pages of content.
Do the same for the most generic tag: hentai > 277 pages of content.
28/277 = 10.1%

The hentai tag is pretty good as a total, since it it filters out illustrations and non-h stuff that would otherwise skew the result. It's far from perfect, but it at least gives you a rough idea. And since you also mentioned vanilla, that's currently at 37.9%, so indeed around 40%.
