I probably fixed that on the website, but I submitted the magazine version as a uni piece close to deadline, as if I was going to proof read it.

As for your new playground:
Subtle humour, yo.
Unless that was a sarcastic quip, then by the power delegated to me by Phoenix Wright, I call objec-BULLSHIT. I've read all the articles and they're mostly meh. "Meh" as in "okay." The one on the extended cut was my favorite for obvious reasons. Reasons that we both appreciate. My only problem with the articles is the horrendous spelling errors. Fucking Vince Goldman. Speaking of whom, is that your pseudonym? Hard not to suspect when I see that britnig write this shit (in addition to every article): "You’ll find that Batman has reach, but Robin has flexibility."
Subtle in the sense that they aren't packed with jokes. They aren't meant to be be uproariously funny, it isn't Cracked. They're based around one central premise and then written up in news style. It is basically the Onion for games at the moment. There's a balance between being unbelievably wacky and believable but still entertaining, which I'm still grappling with.
If you consider it as niche specific emulation I don't think I'm doing too badly. I'm getting another writer on-board so that should ease the workload and ensure a more consistent quality. I realise that purely news writing does get tiresome to read as much as to write, and I want to do features as well, but they are incredibly time consuming.
I'm totally open to suggestions on how to improve. I obviously want people to enjoy it, otherwise I wouldn't spend time every day brainstorming and writing. But I need constructive feedback to do that.
What I would say is this - how many games humour sites are there right now? Because if you don't support sites while they're average to decent, they'll never get good. A community provides a shield as well as affirmation of the idea.

Drrrrrrrrrrrrrrr had a so-so ending.Really? I thought the first half of the season was dull, and it only got really interesting as the plot threads came together and the relationships between characters developed. Then again I haven't watched it since it aired.

Well yeah, it's the only H-game that has had any major mainstream publicity.
If someone does a proper exposé on the most fucked up titles they could get all VNs banned, no problem.

Thanks Nikon. Ordered a BOOMSLANK shirt too; didn't spend the whole $30 because of import tax and shipping costs and bla bla.
Never seen this before, but it has a segment entitled Mecha-lesbos, so it must be good.

God damn it, britfuck, give the actual link. I want to judge you.
[Refuses to link it so here's the full address] http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/05/14/the-monday-papers-2 - see "A history of VG narrative". Original link is dead though. Site team got relocated to a new webzine, I'll have a Dishonored review on there when it launches in a couple weeks.
Here it is in a magazine style PDF though - http://www.mediafire.com/view/?juclksgbit63j9u
I made a website for it. Subtle humour, yo. If you've ever read The Onion or similar satirical output you should get it.
Feedback would be very much appreciated, as long as it isn't related to Brit language or references you don't get. You can send that, but I'll send a thousand pictures of dicks in reply. RSS and Facebook like at your pleasure; Twitter coming soon.
I'm also looking for people to help out, either managing the social media output or posting similar news or satirical colums/reviews. I've been featured on RPS before, if that persuades anyone. PM here or contact me on site.
This is basically advertising, but a) I've made threads like this before, b) I make no ad money and c) you all fucking love me

I WON SOMETHING :>
Thanks Nikon/Jake for being so generous, and congratulations to the other winners. Just goes to show that it's always worth entering competitions like this. Sadpanda appears to be working again but can reup if people want me to.
OK nvm it died again:

I would rather preserve my memories and my cash. Plus, Dishonored.I'll give it this though: Assassin's Creed 3, Dead Space 3 and Splinter Cell Blacklist all look worse.
Speaking of Dishonored, I actually entered a sweepstakes for a chance to win a replica jacket and mask of the game's protagonist.
I saw that, but it's US only. I can't feel too hard done-by; I'm going to a panel and Q&A on Wednesday with the visual design director (Viktor Antonov) and some other artists from the game, with the chance to win an original signed still.

Are you all trolling or are you that tasteless? Resi 6 is bad. All the good work they did in Resi 4 with the pacing and combination of survival elements/limited controls with 'open' but enclosed environments and proper boss fights/set pieces went to shit in Resi 5. What Capcom has decided to do is make the Leon segments worse and make the rest of the game a poorly scripted CoD homage with inferior gameplay. Scarier looking monsters =/= better horror.
Horror games have always revolved around atmosphere, shit controls and enclosed spaces; Resi 6 has action sequences with helicopters and giant explosions where your only input is hammering an action button. Your idea of elitists seems to be people who have played good games and know what they're fucking talking about.

People were killed for haveing a bible in english?! o_0
Yes siree. This was pre-Henry VIII and the split from the Catholic church, although I'm positive it happened in other countries with other translations. One of the main culprits is now the patron saint of politicians.
Catholics have always preferred it if only they are allowed to interpret and dictate the Bible; it's essentially what they are doing in Africa now. It saves a lot of awkward questions.

[color=#2e1a6b]I'm not sure if I want to win. I still live with my parents, and I don't want the prize shipped to my front door. Anyone else have this problem? They don't open your mail, do they? I have housemates, but I'd just lie and say it was something boring, books or a part for my computer. I imagine it'll be sent in plain packaging.
Remember kids, this is an advice thread, not a fucking console debate. At least try to judge things on their relative merits.
Whether or not you get a Wii U depends if you mainly want it for the existing Wii library. If yes, just pick up a Wii on the cheap, because the Wii U won't upscale old games; they will look just as horrible on big TVs.
But if you're interested in the inevitable HD Smash Bros, Zelda, Metroid etc, go for the Wii U. I'd wait until January for the cheaper 8gb model to drop in price. Unless you're big on download titles or party games, the hard drive is the only difference, and since the console has USB ports and an SD slot, you can infinitely bolster the available space.
The Vita arguably isn't worth the cost right now when you look at the PSP library and the emulation possibilities, and the PSP will only get more expensive now that they're winding down production. That said, there are some big games planned for Vita, plenty of unrealised potential as far as modding goes, and the price will be decent coming up to Christmas what with the sales figures and 3DS dominance.
