Long loading yes. But one could also use a Volley gun. What is pretty much strapping couple of muskets together and firing at once.

I mean I don't think the spark could burn through the paper fast enough for that to work.
I have no idea I never loaded a musket that way.
You unwrap one end to dump the gunpowder in. Then unwrap again to put musket ball in. Use the stick to stuff it good and BOOM
Also one can POKE a hole in wrapper allowing spark an easy access. But i think the cap is good enough.

How do you defend a civil war musketball from a few hundred yards with a knife
Launch the knife at them. Overload it for it to make a boom.
You can't overload a musket, you just dump gunpowder and the bullet in there, and the little thing the flint hits and pull the trigger.
I was talking about the knife. But musket? Invent cartridges and bring out the hand crank minigun
