Resorting to violence... how appropriate for a funeral.Hey, I'm not one to go and punch some one out for being a jerk but you have to realize there are people out there that would go as far as to injure someone when they are faced with an opposing force that are against the thing that has brought them joy for a long while.
I'm not sure what you seek to accomplish about bringing that up, yes I agree there are uncivilized low-brow apes that exist in this world who use violence when faced with an opposing view. Don't misunderstand, I don't support picketing or anything that cult does but to respond with violence only proves their point.

People who pronounce "milk" as "malk". People who make terrible threads. People who merge at the last second just to get ahead of a few more cars. People who dont signal when they're driving. Sports fans during the playoffs.

If you put it like that I agree. I was looking at it in a more mild fashion, like she's prejudiced about a cat while there's a scarier prejudice about her. Sense any racism in the way I put it?But it's not about her, the fact that he finds it humorous is the issue at hand. His original question was to determine his culpability in the matter, not whether her superstition is justified.
Excessive conclusion on your part. I wasn't mentioning whether her reaction is justified. I'm also focused on the culpability issue here. My outlook above was the way I read the joke in the first place. I didn't feel racist about it and you did. But as you pointed another outlook, I guess your take on it fits Takerial perfectly.
I don't understand how you could have misinterpreted it.
And I don't know why you can't admit the irony in the joke.
You don't know what irony is.

It is racist.Wait. She's racist about a black cat. What's racist in finding the irony funny?
She's not racist, and what he find funny isn't irony...
Per say - yes but isn't treating cats by their color similar to racism, despite it coming from superstition.
If it isn't irony - what is it then, half-irony?
Superstition =/ racism, it's stupid to call it such, and to clarify "black" is not a race in the cat world.
It's not irony, as I said it's racism and as black isn't a race for cats it's not ironic.
It's not stupid okay. maybe a little but both are bias, conclusions ascociated with colour. And just cause of the similarity some find it ironic. But that wasn't the initial point. Why is it racist to find her reaction funny? Or do you mark any observation concerning with the colour of skin as racism?
The humor he finds is entirely due to her race, if she was any other color it would mean nothing to him. So yes, in this case the fact that it's amusing to him based on her race is racism. While you maintain that it's simply an "observation" observations can be racist by nature.

All you have to do at the end of the day is pray for forgiveness, why do you think Christianity was so appealing to the masses in the first place? The appeal of heaven after death... Not even kidding.
