Wait what does the rules say about a tie?

Well, to address some complaints given about the "oppressive" word limit, technically everyone was given 500 more from last year. I have a feeling that if everyone is given 2000 for next year, it would still not be enough for some.

In short, the challenge is being effective with what you are given, otherwise there is no point to a themed contest. Yes, some people had pre-written submissions that were longer than 1500 as well as there were people who kept writing until they wanted to stop long after 1500. However, it should not be surprising that you would find difficulty if you're editing a lengthy and/or already existing piece. I would like to read the unaltered originals after the contest, however.

Erm, unless I'm reading this wrong then I'm not so much touched as a bit giggly. Anyone who has seen the movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail may recognize what I'm getting at here...

Why did the death of Kyle directly correlate to the shutdown of the terminal? I believe I recognize the effort to say that that's when Kyle passes on, but it's like a man writing "Augh" on a wall as he's dying.

I think it would be more emotionally jarring for F4ku to have not logged off at all, and E3pr to not only know he's gone, but still see his name there until the server loses power. I feel it would've nicely capitalized upon the already despondent feeling of loneliness, in how she knows he's gone but the server insists he isn't.
