the characters are probably original crhacters OR characters that only existed as Original pilots in Gundam games.

I have never seen both of them in the animes or the Games, So I'm positive that they are original characters... but who knows? lol

I think there's no other history included other than this "event" happens near the "One Year War" since both Pilots are still Using Goufs.

for Military Titles (Probably since I can't find a site that has both Kanji's and Romaji) (I can only remember the Kanji for Chu and Sho from they're military ranks)

Shomyua? is a Chu-i = 1st Lieutenant
Nasta? is a Sho-i = 2nd Lieutenant

EDIT: the ranks can also be Chusa or shosa... but i rarely see a Mobile suit Pilot ranked that high. but just check them, just to be safe.
