well, my friend never said that you'll go deaf in a week or a month if you did it like. It's just that, prolonged hearing will weaken it further, and in most cases some of them went deaf way faster than average people when they get older.

and like Gibbous said, Volumes also effect the results.

and about the ergonomics of head phones, I never use the normal shaped headphones, I always use the ones that goes around the back of the head. and another thing about the pain because of the pressure, I think it's good sign to stop and rest a bit, when it starts hurting. Almost like a safety limit. :)

My friend did a research, and most of the people that uses earphones (especially the smaller ones that goes into the ear) damages your hearing way faster than people who uses headphones.

I asked him the safe limit is:

Headphones : 1-2 hours
earphones : 30-60 minutes

I really want a anime version of this... look at that quality...

Just remember though, that type of earphones is the most damaging ones from all the types. Use it for max 30 minutes - 1 hour, and let your ear rest. Using it too much will result in deafness. (sorry if I sound like a smartypants)

well, although I can understand roughly the language, but what made me fall in love with it first is the music. The composition, the arrangement and all "the colors" of Japanese music is very unique and really nice to hear. the lyric for it is the factor that adds the "perfectness" to Japanese music.

and even the world has acknowledge (or more like, alienate) Japanese music by putting them into their own genre like: J-Rock, J-Pop, J-Rap etc.. etc..

and about people hating it.

Headphones all the way. I only use earphones if at that time I didn't have a headphone

one reason is, using an earphone often will ruin your hearing, and using a Headphones is much more safer and doesn't ruin your hearing as fast as an earphone.
