-Basic synopsis without spoilers
-story themes that they will encounter
-Characters, including their background and pictures
-Sample pictures
-Specs needed to play
-Price
-etc

Once again you're being a selfish consumer. The VN companies has the right to keep their "scenes" to themselves, it's their "trump card" you don't reveal your "trump card" before you even start a game. Whether the consumers "like it" or "not" it depends on the consumer itself. Companies don't have the obligation to pander to the fans.

Now here's where you're selfish ego is shown. You don't "ask them" to put in your favorites stuffs, you need "to search" them for yourself.

VNs companies has the liberty to put any kind of elements into their VNs, if you don't like it then it's not their fault. You just find VNs that is compatible to your own preferences.

I don't like guro, but then I play Saya no Uta and then complain they shouldn't have put guro in this VN? Isn't that just selfish.

and those are not minigames. Vns that has gameplay is made with proper solid gameplay. A minigame is a subgame of the game itself, and usually just a mere filler. The successful completion of such minigames may or may not be required to finish the encompassing game.

A VN itself is not a "game", choosing dialogues is not a gameplay.

Then go play with old 1998 VNs, that's the only answer to your "silly minigames" and "more dialogue choices".
But honestly "silly minigames"? can your mind get any more shallower?

Modern VNs focus more on the narration and story, rather than just putting out endings for the sake of putting more endings. Endings are not everything in a VN.
