Huh. I just finished watching the remake. It's...how shall I put it? Its got a charm in its own right, but at the same time feels kind of forced (or at least more forced than than the original). This is possibly due to the fact that it's a full 40 minutes shorter, but I digress. I think that overall, it's no worse than most other romantic dramedies and that, if viewed entirely on it's own merits without the inevitable comparison to the original, it's an alright movie.The one thing I was sorely disappointed on were the film treatments. Anyone who's seen the original can tell you that the re-write of Rain Shower is one of the funniest moments in the film. Here, they seemed kind of lacking.
