Ok, well, I've looked through those links and none of them have the anime I'm looking for, in the format I want it in. So, is there anyone out there who can answer the original question? As in, give instructions for how to rip dvds given the circumstances I'm in, or at the very least, link a how-to guide on the subject.you can always convert the files to the format you want.
the only way to rip protected DVDs is to use a sofware that is able to bypass the encryption, the only one i know of is clone dvd this is a pay software, there are others like this but i do believe that they are all pay software.
OK, I just thought of something: how much more difficult/different is it to work with footage from a BD as opposed to a DVD (if at all)?
there won't that much of a difference.
But BDrips will need more system resources because of the higher revolution/bitrate.
BD will give you a better picture quailty
So, there's no real difference when editing? What about when I'm deinterlacing, adjusting video/audio or otherwise prepping it? Or will I have to do that at all with a download?

I appreciate the response, but I know for a fact that what you are saying is absolutely incorrect. Everyone I have talked to has made AMVs with legally purchased DVDs, and pretty much every guide for ripping DVDs I've read has used legally purchased DVDs.The unfortunate truth is that most people who make AMVs have no idea what the fuck they're talking about when it comes to audio and video quality. What you get off a DVD is likely to be no different from the media you'd download online and any 1080p raw release will give you the same quality you'd get from a DVD.
The main advantage to using a DVD or blu-ray release (which you can download online) is that there are often art, animation and audio improvements.
If you want a free solution to video editing you should consider using Lightworks. It has a long history of success (10+ years) and has been used in the making of many popular movies, it recently became freely available to use.
Ok, so then where can I download said 1080p videos from safe sources? Because I'm pretty sure those dont exist.

Hi, I don't know if this is the right place for this, but I couldn't find any pre-existing threads on this topic, or any other sections of the forum that would be more appropriate. So, here goes.
As the title says, I am trying to get into making AMVs, but I've been experiencing some major setbacks in terms of the technology. Here's what I have: -Windows 8
-a laptop (non-touchscreen)
With this combination, I am seemingly unable to rip dvds. The ripping software I'm attempting to use is DVDfab, and the website says that the latest version (which is the one I'm using) is compatible with Windows 8. And yet, here I am, cast out into the cold, unable to rip a single dvd. I'm thinking it might be my laptop's DVD drive that isn't jiving with the software or some shit, but I honestly have no idea. What do you all think? If anyone's familiar with Windows 8 and/or the problem I'm currently having, I'd greatly appreciate your input.

The episode itself was alright. And I found that the censoring didn't really bother me that much, 'cause it was only shown, like, 3 times or so. That aside, I was going WTF throughout pretty much the entire ending theme.
I'll keep watching for now.
I'll keep watching for now.
From everything I've seen, heard and experienced, this seems to be the consensus (generally speaking, for most people):
-When it comes to size, thickness is more important than length
-In regards to importance in bed, the three main aspects are, in descending order, skill and technique (how you use it), stamina (how long you last) and size
-Foreplay/oral/hand skills are actually more important, considering that around 60-80% of all female orgasms occur due to oral/hand-play rather than actual penetration
-Despite what the porn industry would have you believe, an average penis, or even a somewhat below-average penis, will work just fine for the majority of women
-Also, for your sexual knowledge: The average adult penis is anywhere from 5-6 inches in length and 4-5 inches in circumference, depending on your source. This is the information I have gleaned from literally dozens of different independent studies; the exact numbers vary, some lower, some higher, but all fall somewhere within this range.
Hope this helps.

For me:
5. Tied between: Kaleid Liner Prisma Ilya and Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge
4. The World God Only Knows
3. Hataraku Maou-sama
2. Attack on Titan
1. Haganai
Honorable mention: Noucome
Most Badass character: Levi (Attack on Titan)
One thing to keep in mind: I actually think Attack on Titan is, all things considered, the superior anime when compared to Haganai; however, despite this, I derived greater enjoyment/entertainment out of Haganai, and is therefore #1 on my list.

I don't really play video games. I used to play when I was younger (~9-12 years old), but then I just stopped. I've only just recently begun playing again, and even then it's only when my roommates or my friends want to play multiplayer. On top of that, I only play Super Smash Bros Melee, so it barely counts. As far as I know, I've never met another male my age who doesn't play video games.
ALL OF MY WANT

Ok, it REALLY looks like Heaven's Feel is more or less confirmed at this point. Look at the images in this:https://i.imgur.com/mMIwW9U.jpg
Of the route-exclusive images, ones from HF appear more often than ones from the other two routes; in fact, I can only identify off the top of my head 1 image that looks like it's from UBW, and even then I can't 100% tell if it is.
In all honesty, this could just be me fanboying, but all things considered, it's looking more obvious.
hmm which one. Maybe because the other pics came from the HF route and its standing out more.
By "which one", do you mean which picture do I think looks like it's from UBW? In that case, the one on the very bottom-right of the image. Again, I'm not totally sure.

Definitely:
-Chuu2 S2
-Nisekoi
-Inari, Kon Kon, Koi Iroha
-SYD S2
-Saikin, Imouto
Maybe:
-Toaru Hikuushi
-Nourin
-Mahou Sensou
As for OVAs:
-SOA
-ToLoveRu
-Kikou Shoujo
-Prisma Ilya
Looks like a pretty good haul as far as I'm concerned.

I appreciate the fact that you have experienced the world, but I believe you cannot state that the entire world is racist without seeing a majority of the world's population. Also note the fact that people are more likely to let the opinion of the masses override their own beliefs in areas where expression of ideology could mean isolation or even criminal punishment. Frankly it's a huge pain to discern global truths about populations, especially when they have a tendency to be dishonest.
Every country wants to look good in front of the others, no country wants to admit to being a mass murderer or starving citizens to fund wars. Let me elaborate on my especially Japan. It's true that Japan is xenophobic, that nationalists still look down on other countries however Japan has shown inclinations to, from a distance, respect other cultures which is a huge step.
It is relevant because Minato Soft and the affiliates in the anime production would put their foot down if one of their productions was incredibly offensive to a demographic as large as Western society.
Try to keep an even head about this, no need to get worked up about something like this.
When did I ever state the entire world is racist? When did I say anything even remotely close to that? There's a huge difference between saying that those sorts of beliefs exist and are expressed openly, and saying that the world is racist. I wasn't really getting that worked up about it before, but the fact that you are putting words in my mouth to such a degree IS now greatly offending me.
I have a number of other things to say to this, but frankly, I'm getting tired of this discussion and I figure that it's going to go on forever at this rate, so I'm just taking the initiative and stopping right now. Good day.

I don't see how that was a joke, especially considering that's how a lot of people in the world actually think, and it's just wrong. It wasn't even that exaggerated considering the vehemence with which I've seen people espouse that kind of belief.Racists are in the minority. A majority of people secretly hold inconsequential discriminatory views on other races, like how many people in America think that the British are well behaved.
Maybe you grew up in a bad part of town, however the rest of the world is not like that-especially Japan.
Maji de Watashi Ni Koishinasai is one of the most popular VN among the american populace, it did not win the hearts of western culture by destroying it. In regards to the anime it's likely they tried to play off the casual racist jokes that Maji de Watashi ni Koishinasai uses but ended up failing horribly, it would not be the first VN adaptation to fall short of expectations.
I've lived in several different countries in Europe, been to at least 12 or so others, and have met people from literally dozens of foreign countries. A lot of people DO think like that around the world, and are outspoken about it. It seems like you're the one who doesn't really understand the issue.
Besides, considering the homogeneity of Japanese society and the fact that many Japanese still deny, minimize, or even make light of the war crimes and atrocities committed by Japan during WWII even to this day, I don't really get why you're saying "especially Japan".
And for the record, I was simply saying that that part in the anime really rubbed me the wrong way; I was never even talking about the VN. I never questioned the quality of the VN, or its content in regards to cultural views; it is completely irrelevant in this situation.
