I don't want to have to listen to all the commentators going on about how Kobe is the best ever if the Lakers win(he's not, he just gets to play with Gasol while players like LeBron and Chris Paul are stuck with old man Shaq and Peja)MJ is the best ever and he got to play alongside Pippen and Rodman.
Yep, to win six titles, you have to be both really good and lucky when it comes to factors outside your control. Even if you put a peak form MJ on this year's Nets, they would probably only be good enough to make the playoffs and lose in the first round. That's a huge upgrade, but one player can't singlehandedly win a title in basketball.
But, as often is said, history is the propaganda of the victors and that is very true in sports.
In sports, winners are winners because they win and winners win because they are winners. A few weeks from now, no one will remember that Kobe tried his best to shoot his team out of game 7 in the finals, dogged it, and still got the MVP award that I think should have gone to Gasol. Kobe will be seen as a winner. And because he scores the most points and is seen as the top player on his team, he will get the lion's share of the credit regardless of whether he deserves it.
I think missing Perkins may very well have cost the Celtics this title. With him, they probably don't get destroyed on the boards. They just didn't have enough height to match Gasol and Bynum.
This is why I am avoiding ESPN and other sports shows like the plague for the next few weeks. This is all they're gonna talk about: "Kobe is the new basketball god" and "What's next for Kobe?"
But you know what I find funny? Forget Jordan for a second. Kobe will never be Jordan. EVER. Its the fact that now we are gonna hear that Kobe is the greatest Laker of all time. OF ALL TIME. Some of the Laker greats include the logo himself, Jerry West, Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul Jabaar, Elgin Baylor, James Worthy and Magic Johnson.
This is just my opinion, but Kobe is not MJ, and he's not the greatest Laker ever. That's Magic Johnson. But this is all that's gonna be talked about before free agency. This is why I needed Boston to win, in order to not hear this garbage. But oh well.
Lebron to the Clippers!

You're just intimidated by them, and that's normal. I was always intimidated by them when I first started. But as time passes, it goes away. Working out in the gym in front of those work out pros and doing it consistently gave me a lot of confidence in myself.
It really helps if you work out with a friend or friends. Trust me. And don't be ashamed. The whole point of going to the gym is to better oneself. Just keep that in mind, focus, have fun and you should be fine.

Boston up 3 games to 2 against LA. Kobe killed, but besides Gasol, everyone else was locked up. Boston's defense is in championship form again. But watching the game, it pisses me off how much Fisher flops around. I'm not just saying it cuz I want the Celtics to win. I just hate it when the only way a person can affect a game is to flop and take charges. Yes he did well in game 3. But 4 out of the 5 games played so far, the only thing way he influenced the game was through flops. Its really irritating.
Go Celtics!!
People should be given a technical for flopping. But I think your hate for people who try to take charges is uncalled for. It's a good play that does not show on the stat sheet.
Ok maybe I was overreacting. You are definitely right about players taking charges. Its the extra dirty work that helps lift a team over. BUT I HATE FLOPPERS. There is a slight difference between them. A person that takes a charge usually does it when someone's driving to the basket, but a person who flops draws offensive fouls anywhere on the court.
Or maybe this is all a mute point and I just hate Derek Fisher. I mean Ginobli is a flopper but I love the guy...

Funny...This thread's title totally applies to me, except we didnt stay together, though deep down I do miss her and want to find out what happened to her...
Anyone that knows me well should know what Im talking about, and I dont feel like going back digging up old threads for reference...
Long story short, I was 17, she was 16, she mighta gotten pregnant, but I moved away and found out months later that she might have been pregnant, then she went missing and I havent heard from her since...
Its been 3 years since then...
Kinda sucks to think about that I might have a kid somewhere and I dont even know him/her...
...
Ive even pondered about hiring a private eye to look her up...
...
But that would be kind of creepy... but still...
Wow man, sorry to hear that. That's no easy situation.
Also sorry to hear that. If you have the money, I say go for it and hire a private investigator. Life should be lived with as few regrets as possible.
I've recently been affected by a new life in my family. The mother, my sister, is older than me by a few years, and I'm 21. Let me just say this: child rearing is so freakin underrated. Its VERY difficult, I can't stress this enough. This is especially so if the parents have been laid off in this economy (which is what's happened in my life).
What I'm trying to say, in so few words, is that if two people want a baby or have unprotected sex, they should be ready financially to deal with the consequences. Adults struggle with this all the time. Two minors will have even more of a struggle with this. They will have to make some huge adjustments and sacrifices. Unless they come from a rich family, they would need to drop out, get jobs, and start saving. Life won't be a game anymore, if it ever was.
As for whether their lives would be ruined, I voted yes BUT

But I don't think my life is ruined, what you COULD have done is ruined, but you can still make life work out.
Yandere is one of the hottest themes in anime, imo. I only know two anime/manga that even have one: School Days, and Mirrai Nikki. There are some hentai works by Kirintei that are freakin HOT!! Its really underused, if you ask me.
I don't understand what's so hard about being faithful. That's pretty much all you have to do to stay alive. Limit your socialization with women so she won't go psycho on them, or you, and that's about it. You'll have an extremely devoted and enthusiastic lover that won't get tired of you or cheat on you. And
Because eventually I manipulate her into proving her love for me in many ways, in many ways.
This.
Also, do you guys mind telling me what other anime/manga have a yandere chick in it? I've been dying to see more of them. (Sorry for the pun lol)

Does Dragon Ball Kai really count as a remake? I've only watched a few episodes, and from what I saw it had the same scenes from the original without crappy filler and a new opening/ending theme. In my opinion, this doesn't count.
Sailor Moon needs to be remade, following the manga more closely this time. Minako was so...Usagi-like in the anime and had no real impact after season 1. But in the manga, she asserts herself immediately as the leader of the inners. There are other things too, but I won't go into it. The whole remake could last about 52-75 episodes without crappy filler and following the manga more closely. That would be a dream come true.
Honorable mention:
Robotech (it would look really great updated, among other things)
Street Fighter (where they actually follow Capcom's version of events from Alpha to SFII)
Trigun (I would LOVE this)
Cat's Eye (For the sole reason of seeing some newly updated ecchi of the three sisters)
Rave Master
Rurouni Kenshin
Patlabor

When I was a kid, I used to have nightmares about being chased by random monsters, creatures, aliens, etc (The aliens were the worst. I had real big fear of alien abductions. Kinda still do). But as I got older I discovered something called DBZ. After watching lots, and lots, and lots of DBZ episodes (ocean dub back then), if I ever had a nightmare where I was being chased by something, I would fly away. Yup. Just flew away. The first time that happened was really incredible. It really felt like I was flying. My stomach was feeling the changing accelerations, I could feel the wind on my face, and I could control it at will.
As I watched more DBZ, in those nightmares I was able to put two fingers on my head and teleport to some far away place free of danger. It might have taken many tries, but I would do it. Yup, nightmares were kinda fun in a sick sorta way back in the day.
But now, not so much. Aliens aren't the worst thing I could dream of. Having someone close to you die "off screen", and first hearing about it at the FUNERAL, and blaming yourself because you were supposed to be there at the time this person died, those are the worst of the worst for me now. I always wake up startled, feeling my arms, my legs, my face, and then I start crying. I mean really crying, and I'm the type of dude that doesn't show emotions much.

I can't believe I didn't mention One Piece, Naruto, DBZ, or Soul Eater. I'll probably do it later.

Right right, not nothing from nothing. But something suddenly reacting and causing it to all "explode" outward. And ya believing that the universe's expansion doesn't necessarily mean that you believe whats inside it is. But I do, because who knows what really happened with the "big bang". Maybe its still creating things? If the expansion is getting faster than whats making it go faster? I think its almost naive to think that everything we can see now came from that one point, and that's all there is. Why couldn't there have been more points like that? The are effecting ours even? Is that dark matter maybe? Beyond the reach of this "universe" I suppose its possible that if its expanding, then maybe it hasn't reached another point like the one ours started at. Or that others haven't reached ours, or even have yet to "explode" What would happen when it does!? Oh gawd! But that's multiverse or w/e right, and ppl already discussing that.
Such a shut down :( Right right, not nothing from nothing.
You can take a look at some of these 3 Theories to the Universe
I understand what your saying, that in our universe because of the "big bang theory" all the matter has already been created and is just being pushed out (essentially). Is it possible that at the center of our universe is still exploding and pushing matter out? Perhaps matter that hasn't been seen yet because other types of matter are no longer effecting it? Like what is going on at the center of our universe, what are all the reactions going on?
The universe is expanding because of something called dark energy. The theory of the Big Crunch was based on the assumption that gravity would eventually slow all of the matter in the universe, and then everything would clump together continuously until another big bang-like singularity is created. But the universe is not slowing down. Everything is accelerating away from everything else; it's not so much about expansion. And the cause is what they term "dark energy".
As for why there couldn't have been any more big bang singularities, the big bang singularity is supposed to be infinitely dense. What does that mean? Anything else that was around it would have been sucked in by the mind-numbing amount of gravity that the singularity had, no matter how far away it was. If there were more, they became one. Just one.
One more thing: there is NO "center of the universe". I repeat: there is NO "center of the universe". The majority of the posts I've read here have a common misconception. The Big Bang "explosion" isn't a normal explosion. In fact, the only way we can understand it is if we think about it as an explosion. An explosion has a central point, and the material expands radially outwards from the center. But that's not what happened.
Like I said earlier, the big bang "explosion" created SPACE AND TIME. No one has commented on that for some reason, but that's what it is. The Big Bang couldn't have happened in any particular place in the universe because there was no universe! No space, no time, no matter. Just the infinitely dense singularity.
You can see it better this way: if I was to take an advanced, super-powered telescope that can see into the far reaches of the universe, and I point it in several directions, the universe would look the same in all directions. There isn't more of the universe on one side of the earth than the other. And it's like that even if I was to use this telescope on Mars, on Pluto, or on a moon in the Andromeda galaxy instead of on earth.
There's a balloon experiment about the universe's expansion that you should look into if you're really into this stuff. I'm too lazy now to write about it. Wow, I had a lot to say. I love discussions on the universe!
According to the theory, the big bang was the creation of time, space and matter. Its hard to see how another big bang can occur in this universe when time and space already exist. Man, my head is starting to hurt.
Technically speaking, if you want to look into the past, all you have to do is look into the sky. All the light from those stars are hundreds, thousands, or even millions of years old. Even light from the sun takes 7 minutes to arrive on earth.
Anyway, this is the perfect opportunity to talk about something that I saw in a Barnes & Noble bookstore. While I was walking around aimlessly, looking for interesting books, something caught my eye. It was about unexplained phenomena, mysteries, etc. One of the chapters of the book talked about a person named John Titor. They say he was a time traveler from the year 2036!! I kid you not.
He wrote about various things, like how there was going to be a civil war here in the US followed by WWIII, all of it happening by 2015. I'm really trying to summarize it cuz I'm too lazy to write it out. What's interesting is that he does describe his "time machine" in some detail.
No, I don't think what he was saying was really literally true. But its still an entertaining story.

One of the first times I cried from watching an anime was after watching Gundam 0080. At the time I couldn't believe that it ended the way that it did. For only six episodes, its hard to believe that was it. Regardless, I cried. Alot.
Since then, the floodgates turn on without my consent. I've cried watching alot of shows. That's why I don't like watching anime with friends. If a sad scene happens unexpectedly, its over for me. Can't let that happen. I have a reputation to uphold.
