Not sure myself whether it was all entirely a bet, or (if I saw Page 1 right), his (*cough-cough*) "friends(?)" held him down and took a picture of him with no pants or underwear on, and thereby coerced him into approaching her. But I agree; both he and "Shade-chan" as she was labelled by their classmates deserved the happy ending.
