I see.
Never bothered to look it up.
In my mind, "Frontman" simply meant "man at front". Not necessarily the guy calling the shots.

Yeah, and the two best candidates were killed in the 3rd film, one of them 10 minutes in.
Pretty sure Wolvie's been the frontman ever since the 80's.
Probably the single most recognizable X-Man of them all.
The Frontman role has been shared by Cyclops, Xavier, Storm, Puff the magic dragon, etc. etc.
And yeah, he is recognizable with people who's only exposure is the movies.
If anything, he was always the lone ranger.
Anti-hero(not so much after he became the principle of his school).

I think we do not share the same definition of frontman.
I do not mean it as the leader- although they often are synonymous.
I meant it as being the most recognizable figure within a group.
A good example would be series that either have several or no defined main character.
Most everybody would know who Gandalf is, but Frodo and perhaps Aragorn are really the main characters.
More people would recognize Asuka, Rei, or even Gendou- as opposed to main protagonist and superwimp Shinji.
Most people- even those who haven't followed the series or are even remotely comic book fans- would be able to identify Wolverine, even whilst being completely ignorant of the other X-Men.

Guy comes off as a bit of a twat, but- to be perfectly honest- I'd probably be just as loony had I just built that.
More than anything else, I'm curious as to see the long-term effects on human physiology.
Should a permanent colony be successfully established, the people a million years hence may well be noticeably different.

Keep in mind that the tree rings are being translated into the language of music, rather than sounding musical in and of themselves.
Meaning they just put music over a wooden circle spinning in a record player.
Wood grain doesn't have grooves that go in a consistent circle slowly going to the center - wood grain has knots that make it go all over the place.
You may have noticed the camera, instead of of a needle.
As it spins, the camera views the rings- as well as knots and other what-have-you- and plays notes in accordance with waves and concentration of colour.
If it should appeal to thy tastes more, you may imagine it as a slice of a dryad's leg.
Quite interesting.
Some guy decided to put slices of trees onto a record player, and created a program to play notes according to the trees' rings.
So this eerie, cacophonous, and yet strangely soothing melody is what the life of a tree sounds like.

Your sales pitch needs some work.
Yeah- I think this guy has the one-up on that, really.
Whilst people are divided on whether Reps matter or not, it is evident that the matter on whether they matter matters enough for people to natter about the matter.
