She's a prominent character in PC-98 era and one of playable characters in Phantasmagoria of Dim.Dream and Mystic Square.
Not to mention, Yuuka who also appeared together with her as playable in Mystic Square, already appeared in windows era game, Phantasmagoria of Flower View.

Btw I'm thinking of using the alternate-world's Reimu to be the second narrator throughout the latter part, and I also felt the jokes really needs moar polishing lol~Since third-person narration isn't really my forte, I usually remedy it by using 2 Protagonists, and each of them gives different style of narrations to give a better outlook~
Also, thanks for the review, it'll help out a lot in the future~
The humor definitely need lots of focused work, otherwise it's just a fantasy genre, not humor/fantasy. Try to include a comic relief other than the protagonist to deliver, and limit the stereotypes.
It's worth doing as a good writing exercise and to give better insights on certain circumstances. Give it a shot sometimes.

Well, I think I'll join this club (coincidentally, right on the anniversary).I'm actually only a Touhou fan since recently (a few months, after having a slowly (very slowly) growing interest. I first found out about it when I saw pictures on message boards. However, since shmups aren't exactly my favorite video game genre, my interest in it was rather mild. Needless to say that changed. Still, I mostly enjoy fanworks and don't play the games often, although they are more fun than I expected. And while I suck at them, I'm not as bad as I feared (still, the only game in which I 1cc'd was Phantasmagoria of Dim.Dream and even that only on Easy Mode).
Favorites are always tricky for me, but I'd say that my favorite Touhou characters are Youmu and Reisen. Utsuho would probably be a close third. Other than these, I also like Meiling, Sakuya, Yuyuko, Rin, Byakuren, Nitori, Marisa, Sanae, Aya, Flandre, Koakuma, Akyuu, Minamitsu, Mystia, Yuuka, Suika, Shinki and... Well, nearly everyone. Really, the only characters I dislike are the moonbitches and they didn't even appear in any game.

Glad to know you're having fun with Touhou, and Phantasmagoria of Dim.Dream? I have to say it's quite rare to met a recent fan that's into PC-98 games. Also, Yumemi and Chiyuri are cool. Have you tried PoFV? It has similar gameplay mechanics as PoDD.

Read it up to chapter 4, and here's my 2 cents:
Transitions between Marisa's inner monologues and narrations can be confusing at certain times.
You're mainly using first person perspective, which is okay but limiting the reader to Marisa's perspective. Since it's a fantasy genre set in alternate world, I think changing the point of view into third person or another person besides Marisa can help to describe the setting/world better.
Marisa come out as an unreliable narrator in my eyes, and in chapter 4 when she's breaking the fourth wall kinda cemented that. Try to switch to a different narrator sometime?
I feel the humor is nonexistent or bland. Every time something wacky happened, I expect Marisa to play as 'the only sane man' and deliver a punchline, but she reacts like she was too shocked or unamused/indifferent which is killing the jokes.
Now, I didn't say it's bad or something. I'm just sharing my own 2 cents for your fic. Review and keep up the work. Will wait for further.

Ah, heard about that. I think its name is æ±æ–¹å¹»æƒ³é”録 ～ The Devil of Decline. An interesting addition I see, your character now can has some kind of shikigami. But, ha! I haven't even finished Genius of Sappheiros yet. Well, at least this game can wait till it has expansion(s) and complete translation like Genius of Sappheiros did. Patience... patience...

There's a pattern? O.oHa, I used to not aware of it too at first. Kinda hard to notice those patterns when you're busy dodging bullets. You'll get used to it soon, just keep going. After that you'll start to notice enemies' bullet patterns and it'd gradually become easier.
