Upgrade Mobility, EN for reals
Ignore battleship. If you want to upgrade it, upgrade its HP so it can help to support defense.
For pilots:
SP regen, for everyone
Attacker for super pilots and of course your main offensive units
Guard for battleships captains
Will+ hit for real pilots
Will+ (damaged) for super pilots
Give prevail up to Lv9 for supers too.

You can use the invincibility period that occurs every time you bomb to get close into bosses at point blank range and graze them to increase your max point value, scoring points, and filling the trance gauge.

For me they are really helping on:
- When you're in a pinch (e.g. : when you're cornered by danmaku/spellcard), just use a bomb and voila it clears the screen and give you time to anticipate the next wave of attacks.
- Scoring -- they'll help clearing the screen at a perfect time to blast all enemies so you can collect all of their power and point items without a miss. In Ten Desires, you could also use a bomb to help you on grazing the boss
The best part of bombs in Touhou? You're not forced to use it. So, if you're looking for a more challenge you can just not use it.

Well, in term of the ability, "to destroy anything and everything" sure is dangerous, though I wish ZUN could give it more details. Sometimes I think, perhaps ZUN didn't include Flandre in newer games because he's not certain how to apply her ability in newer games should she become a playable character or enemy.
I rarely encounter memorable fan comics of Flan being insane or yangire though. Save from that one Asatsuki Dou's book.
The most is Flan being a childish or innocent little sister or a little sister who like to play prank on her big sis: Remilia.

What is it again... Summer day's dream? I honestly forgot about them. The delay for the second episode really drained my interest on it and it didn't help that its plot is kind of standard in fan comics and does not really stand out.
I heard second ep will finally out at C81, but well, I don't really have a high expectation on it, though I wish the danmaku part will be cooler and not only look nice in trailer.
