In my opinion Macross prioritizes mobility than weapon unlike Gundams who uses rape weapon then customizes it even further... still Nekki Basara will still kick ass in the battlefield using music...
its not that hard to choose between my 2 childhood animes.... I still have my uncle's Macross:SDF vhs

[spoil]I get what you mean... and I played the VN... still its preety terrifying to see Kenpanchi doing that... though I never said he'd still attack... right? Similar to people who got K.O. and still manage to fight back/stand and a good example was Lancer who was pierced by his own Gae Bolg(in the Heart) on FSN UBW... he still manage to take out Kotomine and repelled Shinji
