This will be my final post in this topic as it seems some people take offense to even the most minute detail while some simply misinterpret meanings of what other people post.
Let me just raise some points. First, that "having many content" does not mean "having many works to read to fap to in a day/week/month" it's not about the actual quantity you can read in a specific amount of time. Indeed it's ridiculous that a single user would have so much time to be able to read 20+ original works in a single day but that's not what this is about. It's about having variety. Once again, let me just make it clear that this is not to attack or demean FAKKU but rather to add a piece of information that some supporters (if not parts of the staff) seem to miss. People do not want more content so that they can simultaneously read works, people want more content to have more choices. Pardon me it just feels silly because I thought this was an obvious thing. It's not like when you look at the first page of the site you immediately find something you want. That's unrealistic. Most would want to browse through an index or whatever to find what they fancy at that time and if you compare a box with little content to a box with more content, it is only logical to believe that the box with more content have a larger chance to have what they want.
Second, I'm not sure it's a good PR decision to tell potential customers to "go to another site" as that's just shooting yourself in the foot. "I am still here just keeping quiet and listening to what everyone has to say." are the exact words Jacob used, which means he's willing to listen to every suggestion, concern, or critique anyone has which is admirable. So if the creator himself is open to ideas on how people would accept this change more, why are some supporters so gung ho on shutting down these same ideas? Because they don't know what they're talking about? I'm sorry but from what I've read so far people are just saying their preference and I'm quite sure each and everyone here knows what they are talking about when they're talking about their own preference. I believe it's important to know what your audience needs, and what more they want from you if you want to stay relevant in a competitive field.
Third, I was needlessly challenged by a supporter in a previous post that I do not know what I am talking about since the examples I have used are not adult websites. Though I have expressed my concern that he may have misunderstood my post, I took it upon myself to make my own research. Indeed after seeing d*****mo* and hen***k** which respectively costs 20 dollars and 30 dollars, FAKKU does stand in the less expensive side. However, as I've said before, people in this age have already locked their budgets for spending on specific services. I believe what FAKKU wants to do is to give users reasons why they should replace CR from their budget with FAKKU, why they should reallocate their budget for netflix to FAKKU, or is it worth not buying mobage currencies for FAKKU. It's not about doing 2 more hours on overtime, it's about is it worth spending that 2 more hours of overtime for FAKKU or should I try to roll again for Okita instead? What both sides are showing are examples of knee jerk reactions. Those who feel that the change is bad outright bashes while some of those who support outright tells others to leave (like they're not losing money on a dismayed customer).
Edit: good job on the supporters who actually answered 'why is fakku worth the money' properly by answering appropriately with 'fakku has high quality uncensored contents' and other similar posts. It's a step in the right direction to show why your hand is good compared to other products in any market.
That's my last piece on this topic. As for myself, well... depends... we'll see.

Just a point i want to raise that many seem to forget and hopefully will help the founders of the company to make decisions, it's true that if people can pay for Netflix or crunchyroll they surely can pay for a FAKKU subscription. But get this, you're paying for Netflix, Crunchyroll, Playstation Plus, Xbox Live, nicovideo, mediafire, hostgator, steam games, those fucking quartz in Fate Grand Order etc. They all seem cheap, but all of a sudden when you total it up, just to keep your gaming and otaku lifestyle you need to pay more than a hundred dollars a month. This is without counting the specific games you want to buy for PC, playstation 3, 4 or xbone. I don't see the company being able to lower the price right now, but maybe sometime in the future FAKKU could make it less taxing on the wallet by putting up alternative plans to make it look appealing. Because right now the only choices some people have are a. Cut something out from their lifestyle to accommodate the subscription fee or ignore it and pass on it. Just putting this out there.though i can understand looking for alternative payment options, the price is right.
Your examples dont show any adult subscriptions which mean you dont know the price of official adult content. Hence you have no idea of what you are asking.
Making it cheaper would mean removing more content, imo. Check the prices of the magazines in japan, for starters.
Just because others are cheap doesnt mean fakku has to be cheap. The price is just right gor the content. And what you can do is simply an hour or 2 of overtime at work
I'm not sure what you're trying to point out, when I'm not saying that the price is "wrong". I'm just trying to point out why it looks not appealing to some people. And of course I have no idea on how to run FAKKU, it's not my job to look at the market for this and thus you'll never see me demanding for them to lower the price or do it differently. I'm merely putting out suggestions on how it might look like a more preferable choice based on my point of view. And I'm sorry but, I believe i wrote on the third sentence "they all seem cheap" which I hopefully made clear includes the subscription for FAKKU so I'm not sure why you seem like you're telling me that I'm saying it's expensive. I apologize if I didn't make that clear though.
Edit: I even placed "I don't see the company being able to lower the price right now" because I know very well that they have a reason for putting it with that price and I stand from an ignorant position so i have no right to judge them for it. I have no idea how much adult sites really charge but what i have an idea of is what an average customer pays for (as I pay a lot for gaming). So let me make it clear, I'm not saying it's "expensive" or it's "wrong".

How much money have you donated to a scanlation group?
I would take this as a question asked to the general populace. A hundred dollars in total (more or less) for the scanlators of Arachnid and about 50 (more or less) for the previous scanlators of Watashi ni XX Shinasai(but they dropped it after awhile so... yeah....).
Which brings me to a point I want to raise. There are people like me who are fine with supporting/paying the artists for their works but it's just that sometimes, just because of your luck to be coincidentally born somewhere outside of Japan, we're unable to do that. "Akebono Zome" a work which I saw a preview for in pixiv was a work by Sakura Circle and I really wanted to support it but when I was about to order it I found out that they don't ship outside of Japan. So, what am I to do then but wait for a scanlator who somehow managed to get a copy of the work and post it (and true enough they did)?
I guess what I'm saying is that if FAKKU can make available these works, despite having to pay a fee, maybe some people especially me would be more welcome to the change. Now, I am sure in the future you will have other products etc. but certainly not the current ones some people like. And certainly it seems that you're not all inclusive in what you want to sell. Therefore, for some of us, we're not disappointed that some contents are not available to us for free, but rather we're disappointed that some contents are not available to us at all.
And even then, let's say we struck gold and a site offers the specific content we want. Not everyone has the privilege to use their credit cards so freely and this is more apparent if paypal is not an option.
With that said, FAKKU made a decision and it's a decision I respect. Indeed a company trying to be legal cannot have a hint of illegal factors inside it or it would be hypocritical. Just understand that there might be some who are disappointed not just because of the money involved. I suggest to have some sort of a poll to find out which deleted works were removed and have a certain number of them set aside. Then, I suggest reaching out to the artists of said works, gain their permission or their partnership just to have those available. I don't know, this is just from the top of my mind, it would be best to just disregard this as ramblings of a returning member so either way I wish you all the best!

This is unfair because I have two favorites, Dark Souls and Bloodborne. When I first played Demon Souls, I thought it was a flawed masterpiece, I enjoyed the hell out of it but I didn't like how I had to travel in the world through "pods". Then, Dark Souls came and allowed me to go everywhere as the world loops around itself, sections are interconnected, and if you know your way you can even make shortcuts. In Dark Souls if you see a huge construct from a far, chances are you will actually reach that place later and that there's a monster in there whose favorite food is your face. With the same gameplay, but with this added feature, I felt like Dark Souls perfected Demon Souls.
Bloodborne on the other hand, I will be honest I felt disappointed at first when I had to click another "pod" to go the first location in the city of Yharnam. I thought they did a 180 and returned to the mechanics of Demon Souls which I liked less. However, to my surprise, it wasn't like that at all and while some locations that are... chalice dungeons, it didn't bother me at all since the main area was so fun to explore. Not only that, it was a break from the slow paced gameplay that the Souls games always sported as rolling and shielding was traded away for evading and well timed parry/counters.
If I really had to pick one though, I'll go with Dark Souls because it had more weapons and armors and I do love to play Fashion Souls.

I've been a part of this community before but, things happened, had to concentrate on my college degree until I graduated and I never really thought about coming back here because... well back then the community felt kind of hostile. However, coming out of college (about six years ago? can't really remember) as a more mature person I've come to realize that it's more realistic to change myself than the people around me.
My reason for visiting this site again is because of the current news of "Fakku removing free content" in which some people on youtube called Fakku a "sellout". I was interested in this because I've no doubt gained friends in this community and I wondered how they were doing and perhaps even their opinion on this change (from reading the original topic about it, it seems rather unwelcome). I wrote my opinion about it in the thread so I won't spoil this meet and greet with it.
People who kept in contact with me ever since would immediately realize who I am but hopefully not because there's a certain joy in anonymity if just to talk to your old friends while they don't realize who you were. I've bought FAKKU merchandise before and I wasn't disappointed (though because of some shipping faults the product was delayed a few months) and hopefully FAKKU can give me a reason to support this new business model they adopted.
Lastly, will I be staying for the long run this time? I will be honest that I intend to visit here but not frequent it as I've done before. Back in the days of the Random Squad everytime I came home from my last year in high school and then later on college I would frequent this website just to see if my friends were online (or engage in some stupid incoherent babbling drama which I now feel ashamed about when I remember them). None of that now for me but I will still probably participate in some games and discussions as I do not want to be just a lurker. So if I'm not busy in the office, or helping manage our family businesses I'll try to be present. Anyway it's nice to visit again.

It has been years since i first joined fakku until I lost my username and pass and decided to just leave the community for good (as the community back then felt quite hostile anyway). However, coming back now I can say that things really changed. I've never really come to Fakku for the doujinshis (as there are other websites that concentrate on that better) but for the community. I remember back then I joined for a Saimoe like event where I believe Kalen won? And then there was the waifu game so I never really bothered about the released scanlations. However, I will say this, I've bought official doujins before, both physical copy and digital copy and I kid you not it feels great to own a hard copy of a really amazing doujin. I've always wanted to support Fakku back then and even bought a hentie shirt as a gift for my friend years back so it should be obvious that what I mean is, I'm not against this change. However, I do believe that eliminating the free stuff completely is not good. I believe that the really old doujins that have aged properly should be allowed to stay because I'm sure the artist already profited from them and those who haven't bought them yet would prolly have no intention buying them anyway considering how long they have been rotting in the shelves. Furthermore, I believe that it's important to have paypal as an alternative as in my experience it's the quickest and safest way to pay for subsciptions. Because of this, having that alternative has always been a deal breaker for me whether I will or will not subscribe to any form of service whether it be gaming or etc.
Edit: Also, I will comment on how people will really be irritated about this change seeing that some youtubers are even commenting on how much a 'sellout' move this is. I am not against it but I can see how this would cause a lot of problems both for the short and long term run.
Here's the youtuber i saw that made me return to fakku to see what was happening
Whatever happens, it's nice to see this site is still alive so happy new year and god speed.
