The Misadventures of Zai – Prologue

It’s Just An Usual Boring Day...

In the year of 20xx…No, that’s a wrong way to start a story…Let’s just move to our ordinary school boy, Blank_Zai or Zai for the short.

“Achoo!” We hear a boy sneezed.

“What’s wrong Zai?” His friend Rin_Penelope or Rin for short, asked.

“I think someone just talking about me” Zai answered.

“Well, I think you watched anime too much” replied Rin as he take some cigarette from his pocket and light it. “How about your little sis Zai?”

“She’s fine, though she need some rest and I think you shouldn’t smoke too much Rin…” Zai answered while looking at his friend with concern.

Rin blew some smoke from his lungs.“Thanks, but it’s already become a habit for me” He replied back, “And I think we should hurry, boss must be waiting for us in the shop.”

Zai looked at his watch.”Ah, you’re right, boss will cut our salary if we late let’s run for it.”

And the two boys began running for their monthly paycheck to the Skyler’s Bar. When they arrive in the resto there’s already a surprise waiting for them.

“You two late six minutes, I’ll cut your paycheck!” said a well-built, middle-aged man.

“Sorry Boss, we just have some extras on school today” Zai apologizing to the man.

“Hahaha, don’t worry boy, I’m just kidding, now quick change to our uniform customers will come soon.” And the man dissappeared to the manager’s room.

“You two are lucky our boss is a loose person.” Said the cook called Mr.Bushido to them.

“Yeah, we lucky Skyler is not that strict” Said Rin.”Hey Bushido got anything special for today’s menu?”

“Just some peanut and beer it’s Saturday, so today we’ll have †˜him’ come here.” Replied Bushido.

“Crap, I forget this is Saturday!” Said Zai as he ran to changing room. “Come on Rin, we’ll be busy today.”

“Typical Saturday for us, heh?” said Rin as he followed Zai.

Ten minutes later after the boys done with their prep and Bushido already stand-by in kitchen, there’s one customer enter the resto. “Rin, here it is,” whispered Zai to Rin while he mopping the floor.

“Lemme take care of it, Zai,” Replied Rin. And he approach that customer bringing his note. “Good evening miss, welcome to our bar, may I take your order?”

“Hm…I want some salad and banana split” Replied that young miss to him.

“Okay one salad and banana split, please wait while we making your order miss.” Rin go to the kitchen and call Bushido. “One salad and banana split please.”

“Alright,” Bushido answered.

And Rin back to his post, the cashier, while waiting for Bushido to make the order. “Ah, good old Saturday as always” He said to no one in particular.

“Yeah, just wait few hours again until †˜he’ comes.” Zai replied.

“And that will make this day more interesting” Rin replied back.

“I’m surprised you find that amusing”

“Well, life need some spice to make it more tasteful.”

“Order up!” Bushido called from the kitchen.

“I’ll deliver it,” said Zai.

Meanwhile in another place far away from them we see a tall and slender figure almost looked like a woman. “My blood is raging…it seems the wheel of fate has turned again for me.”

“Is that so, my master?”ask a furry brownish figure to that man.

“We’ll see about it” he grabbed one glass of red liquid and rise it to the air. “I must hurry…” suddenly that man drop the glass make it shattered in ground and clutches his face. “It’s happening again!”

“Are you alright boss?” the furry ones asked.

“Yes, I’m gonna need more of †˜it’ please bring me some.”

“As you wish…”Answered the furry figure as it disappeared to the darkness.

“Soon…it’s soon…mwahahahahahahaha” the boss is laughing like a crazy.

Back to the Skyler’s Bar we see another hour has been passed since Zai and Rin begin to work their shift. Bar is already crowded with people.

“Bah, it’s almost the time” Rin said

“To make this story pace faster because I think we running it slow.” Zai replied to him.

“Hey, stop breaking the fourth wall, it’s not even the time for comedy yet.”

“I just tryin to amuse the reader.”

“Geez guys quit bitching already, we have ton of works here.” Bushido said to them. “Here’s sausage and potato soup for table 11”

“I’ll deliver it,” said Zai.
